Two Sides Of An Experiment

Chapter 7

*Dave POV*
I cant believe Vicky did all this, this is all her fault. All those years I grew up hating Don all for nothing. When i was little she always challenged me i could not keep up with her although i was older. She did most of the things i could not do. She read all my books in almost a week and then moved to more interest]ing things like my dads books and watching more complex things. When I was about 4 years old and she was 3 years old, the incidents started happening. At first I had my doubts but I did not have a way to prove that and I did not know it was Vicky who was doing all that. As time went by I had to believe what I was seeing. My parents never investigated really and I was only a child so I had to believe everything my parents believed. Don't judge I was a child I didn't know any better.

When we started bullying her, I did not really want to but Vicky talked to me and made me believe that if we let her get friends she would turn the other kids against me and I really couldnt let that happen. I had never laid a finger on her until that day. I feel more guilty that angry right now. We never really tried understanding her and we were all afraid of her. Even mom and dad never knew how to handle a genius. When I was little I used to keep tabs on what Don was doing and I could not believe all the things she was reading. She used to go to the library everytime in her free time and she read things that were way ahead of her.

The librarian loved her so much in just two years she had mastered the exact position of all the books.
I wish I could go back and change things but i cant so all i can do is forgive Vicky and help her through this. I wont lose another sister even if she is the devil herself, I will try my best not to repeat my mistakes. Well, this is harder than it sounds.

*3rd person POV*
Lilian Knight was the most affected by all the reveration. She had despised Don and had made sure that she knew, unlike John who only ignored her, Lilian made sure that she showed Don how much she prefered her sister over her. Now, all she had done came back to her and all she felt was pain and she did not know how to stop all the guilt and pain. She was so hell bent on preventing Don from becoming a monster that she did not know that she was actually making a bigger monster in Vicky.

The media got wind of how Vicky and Dave treated Don and Dave's involvement in Don's previous accident and the stigma they received was so bad that they they thought of moving but couldnt since that would be suspicious and lead to even more stupid theories by the media and the fact that Don had not been found. The media had created theories of how the family was responsible for Don's disappearance but the authorities came to their rescue by airing their trial on live television which showed they had alibis on the night Don was kidnapped. With almost everybody against them, thats when the Knight's knew that when things went wrong they could not depend on anyone else except themselves. All the 'friends' they had, deserted them and some of them went as far as giving fake stories to the media. Now they knew first hand what Don felt being all alone and having everyone against her.

The police did all they could but there was not a single clue as to where Don was and when they had a lead it was a dead end. There was nothing else that could be done so they the case was closed. It's as if Don disappear into thin air.

*unknown location*

"I need DNA from specimen B2" Dr Hansman said to his assistant. She went to the cabinet that was filled with different coloured liquids in bottles and picked the one marked B2.

Dr Hansman was a scientist and not the good kind. He did horrible experiments on human beings and animals without caring if he was hurting then or even killing them. He worked for a very rich influencial man, Mr X, as he was known to the other employees,who had all the resources needed to capture alien DNA. Most of the people were very naive and he used that to his advantage, he would snatch up specimens right under their noses and the stupid humans wouldnt even know it and all he had to do was create stupid theories. He was able to convince them that the UFOS they had seen were spy planes and drones from other countries but they were actually aliens which he hunted down and did experiments on. 

Another occasion was when the marine biologists heard a sonic sounds in the sea that had not been recorded before and he was able to convince them that it was due to an earthquake which had occurred which made the sea bed shift thereby producing the weird sounds. Mr X had connections everywhere and he knew for sure that everybody had a price tag. He never did the dirty work he always had puppets for that.

Dr Hansman took specimen B2, put it in a syringe and injected it to Don's arm (it is pretty obvious that they are the ones who kidnapped Don). Don was not the first patient to be on that exact bed. There we're more before her many more. Other patients were in a better state when they came in but when they we're injected with the foreign substances, the body tried fighting it and that led to most of them going crazy and then dying gluesome deaths. Most of them never lasted more than 2 weeks.

The reason for all this?? Mr X wanted to make a human hybrid by mixing the human DNA with an alien DNA. He wanted to be powerfu, to rule the world by creating a hybrid and starting his own army. He did not know the effect of the experiment or what the organisms he had captured could do but he was desperate to know by sacrificing innocent lives. This time he wanted someone who was commatose to see if there would be any luck this time.

This time something was definitely different but it was not what Mr X or Dr Hansman expected. Don didn't die neither did she wake up for months and months, she was injected with different specimen DNA and all they got was a spike in brain activity here and there. The change was so small that it made no difference and sometimes went unnoticed. Her heart rate and organs functioned the same way it did the first time they got her. Somehow the DNA they injected to her disappeared and not a trace could be seen in her blood.

After one year, they were fed up with her and the experiments so they decided to stop them and get rid of her. Their hope kept diminishing months after months until they gave up.
