Lily's POV

I was sat on the steps to the farmhouse, whilst twiddling with my fingers, till a presence came and sat down by me. I looked over and saw that it was Rick. "You okay?" He asked. I let out a sigh before giving a sarcastic giggle.

"You know. Your the 5th person to ask me that." I stated. He just smiled. "I bet you anything that the entire state heard us." I said before Rick let out a small laugh.

"Daryl will come around. He just wants to find Sophia." He said in an honest tone.

"Ya, I know. He just doesn't need to be such an ass to me about it. I'm just trying to help." I said, raising my voice a little before letting out a sigh.

"Daryl's just worried about you." He said.

"Bullshit!" Rick's eyes widen at my outburst. "Sorry but why? Why would he be so worried about a city chick from New York?" I replied whilst looking down.

"You'd be surprised. Daryl acts differently around you. I've seen it, we have all seen it." He said with a smile on his face. "You know, I was wondering where you come from. I couldn't pin point your accent." He stated whilst looking at me.

"Well, I'm not entirely from New York. I was actually born in the UK, but my family moved out there when I was 5 because my Dad got a new position at work. He was in the military." I said to him whilst he listened to me. After a few moments of silence, I spoke again "Thanks, Rick. For everything." I said whilst looking in his eyes. He gave me a smile before giving me a hug.

As if on cue, Daryl walked past us. Rick pulled out of our hug and stood up. "Daryl." He called out, making Daryl turn around and look at us. "You okay on your own?" Rick asked.

"I'm better on my own. I'll be back before dark." Daryl said, whilst looking at me

"Hey. We got a base. We can get this search properly organised now." Rick said sternly.

"You got a point or are we just chattin'?" Daryl snapped.

"My point is it let's you off the hook. You don't owe us anything." Rick explained.

"My other plans fell through." Daryl said. He looked at me one last time before walking away. I sighed and looked down at my lap. Rick let out a sigh before looking at me.

"What did I tell you? Asshole." I said with a bit of anger in my voice. Before anything else could happen, Hershel came out of the house.

"We could give you more space, set up over by the barn." Rick told him as I stood up from the steps.

"No, no need for that, better you stay close to the house. I don't say this easily, Rick. We don't normally take in starngers. I can't have your people thinking this is permanent. Once you find this girl and your boy's fit for travel, I expect you'll move on." Hershel explained. I knitted my eyebrows in disappointment. "We need to be clear on that." He added. Me and Rick both gave a short nod before leaving.

Later on, we found a walker that must of fallen in the well. We were going to put a bullet in its head but Maggie said not to as it will contaminate the water. We used Glenn as live bait to try and get the walker's attention, only for the rope we used to slip out of our grasp and sending Glenn to the bottom of the well. We eventually got him out as well as the walker and stabbed it in the head.

The day went by pretty fast. I ended up putting Daryl's tent up as I had nothing else to do. Plus I was under Dale's watch all day. Maggic and Glenn came back from their run safely, however Glenn didn't look very happy when he got back.

I was currently sat ontop of the RV with Dale. We were just casually talking about the things we would be doing now if the world hadn't gone to shit.

"Do you think you and Daryl will make up?" Dale asked as the silence was shattered.

"As much as I hate to say it. I hope so." I told him, honestly whilst looking at him. Daryl suddenly came into view as he walked towards the RV. I looked down at him, before sending a side smile, He just nodded at me as he walked into the RV. I silently climbed down the RV and listened in on Daryl's and Carol's conversation.

"A flower?" I heard Carol asked.

"It's a cherokee rose." Daryl told her. "The story is that when American soldiers were moving Indians off their land on the trail of tears, the cherokee mothers were grieving and crying so much 'cause they were losing their little ones along the way from exposure and disease and starvation. A lot of them just disappered. So the elders, they said a prayer; asked for a sign to uplift the mothers spirits, give them strength and hope. The next day, this rose started to grow right where the mothers tears fell." He explained. "I'm not foold enough to think there's any flowers blooming for my brother. But I believe this one bloomed for your little girl." He then told her. I smiled to myself at his gesture. I heard Carol's laugh as I made my way to the house. I climbed up to the roof of the house and led down, looking up at the sky. My mind was in another dimention till a certain voice brought it back.

"Lil?" Daryl asked as he looked up at me.

"Up here." I answered, not moving from my position. After a while, Daryl made his way up the house and led down next to where I was.

"What are you doing up here?" He questioned.

"Lookin' at the stars." I said bluntly before speaking again. "You know any constellations?" I asked him, he just gave me a confused look.

"What's a constellation?" He asked me with curiosity in his voice.

I giggle at his lack of knowledge. " A constellation is a group of stars that make an imaginary shape in the night sky. They are usually named after mythological characters, people, animals and objects. See there is Orion's belt." I said whilst pointing my finger towards the stars.

"Man, all I see is a bunch of dots." He scoffed.

"Look, come here." I said as he got closer to me. "Look, there is Cycnus, the swan. There is the body of it and then if you follow the two stars on each side, there are it's wings." I said. I could feel his body heat as it radiated off of him.

"Oh yeah." He said as his eyes shone in the light that the stars emitted. He continued to talk about how he never thought about the stars in such a way. I couldn't stop looking at him. His eyes filled with wonder and reflected the stars from the night sky. I didn't realise I had raise my hand to meet his cheek and started to lean forward. He quickly turned his head in my direction, wondering what was happening and I caught his lips with mine. Our lips felt so right, as if they were molded for each other.

I felt him tense up at the contact and once he didn't kiss back, I started to panic. I pulled out of the kiss and looked at him with my eyes widened. I couldn't believe what I just did.

"S-so-sorry. I s-shouldn't have d-done that." I said as I quickly rose to my feet and jumped down from the roof. I ran as fast as I could to my tent. I threw back the tent opening and quickly got into bed, burying my head in my hands.

OMG, I just kissed Daryl Dixon....
