Daryl's POV

Ah fuck. Those were the first words that spoke inside my head as I gain consciousness. I stared up at the ceiling for a while before what seemed like the entire group came walking in the room. I waited to see Lily but she didn't appear.

"You're up." Hershel stated. "How you feeling?" He asked.

"As good as I look." I said sarcasticly.

"Where did you find the doll?" T-Dog asked.

"I found it washed up on the creek bed right there." I explained as I pointed at the spot on the map. "She must have dropped it crossing there somewhere." He told us, as Hershel stitched up my hip.

"Cuts the grid almost in half." Rick said, looking back at Shane.

"Yeah, you're welcome." I said.

"How's he looking?" Rick said to Hershel, referring to me.

"I had no idea we'd be going through the antibiotics so quickly." Hershel commented. "Any idea what happened to my horse." He asked me.

"Yeah, the one who almost killed me? If it's smart, it left the country." I told the old man.

"We call that one Nelly, as in nervous Nelly. I could have told you she'd throw you if you'd bothered to ask." Hershel told me as he finished. He then sat next to me and held the cloth to my head, dabbing it gently. "It's a wonder you people have survived this long." Hershel added, grabbing a bandage. Shane and Rick were about to leave the room when I piped up.

"Where's Lily? Did she get back from her search ok?" I asked. Rick face fell of colour.

"Daryl...about..Lily. Um...she left. She's gone." He said. I just stared at him, processing the words that just came out of his mouth.

"What? What do you mean she's gone?" I asked. My voice raised a little.

"Carol and her got into a fight and she left to go search for Sophia." He said, whilst looking down. "Saying something about it basically being her fault that Sophia is out there."

"You didn't try to get her to stay?" I asked angrily.

"I tried. Believe me I tried. But she's so stubborn. You of all people know that best." He said. I just dropped my head and sighed.

"I'm going after her." I said as I tried to sit up.

"Woah. Oh no you're not." Hershel said, pushing me back down.

"She'll come back. I'm sure of it." Rick tried to assure me. I just led back down on the bed and closed my eyes just to find my memories of Lily.

(Time skip)

It was night time and Lily was still not back. I was beginning to get worried. Everyone was down stairs having dinner. I was led on my side, thinking about Lily when I heard a knock at the door. I turned over to see Carol, holding a tray. I brought the sheet to cover my chest.

"How you feeling?" She asks me.

"As good as I look." I said whilst turning back on my side.

"I brought you some dinner, you must be starving." She told me. I just glanced back at the food before turning over again. She then started to get closer to me and lean down and kissed me on the head.

"Watch out, I got stitches." I said.

"You need to know something-" She started but I cut her off.

"What? about how you laid into Lily. You're the reason why she isn't here." I said angrily whilst not looking at her.

"I'm sorry about that. I was angry." She said, I didn't reply. "You know. You did more for my little girl today than her own daddy ever did his entire life. I'm grateful." She said, making me look at her once more before turning again on my side.

"I didn't do anything Rick or Shane wouldn't have done." I mumbled.

"I know." She started before continuing. "You're every bit as good as them. Every bit." She finished before turning on her heel and out of the room. Leaving me to my thoughts, but all my thoughts were consumed by her. By Lily...

Lily's POV

Okay. I'm lost. I kept to the creek but followed some tracks that were small enough to be Sophia's. I continued to follow it but I just came to a dead end. I sighed and sat down on the ground with my back to a tree and cut open a rabbit that I caught with a snare earlier. Right now, I could probably past as a walker seeing as I had mud all over my face that I used for camouflage, walker blood all over my clothes and I'm so fucking tired.

My mind flooded with thoughts of Daryl. I was wondering whether or not if Daryl had woken up yet. How I would kill just to see his blue eyes looking at me again. I didn't hear moans and groans were making their way in my direction till the walkers were in my eye sight. Seeing as there was a massive herd of them. I quickly stood up and ran, not in the direction of the farm but back towards the highway. I climbed a tree to the point where the walkers couldn't see me. I looked towards the sky and saw that it was filled with dusk.

"Great. Looks like I'm sleeping here tonight." I muttered to myself as I closed my eyes and let sleep consume me.

I was awoken by a loud chrip that rang in my ear. My eyes widen to see a small group of birds sitting on one of the branches of the opposite tree. I smiled to myself, thinking of a time where I hated to hear the birds chripping. Deciding to move on, I started to climb down the trees, using the branches as some sort of ladder with my knife in my hand to steady myself. I misplaced my foot and slipped seeing as I just brought the knife out of the tree to move down.

I fell to the ground with a thud and a yelp. I looked down at my leg to see my knife through it. I thought to myself that I had to take it out with I wanted to carry on. My shaking hands ghosted over the blade as I tried to find the courage to pull the weapon out of my thigh. Tears were streaming down my face at just the slightest of touch and how much pain it brought.

A twig snapped in my direction to reveal a walker. My eyes widened as I started to panic. I tried to pull my silenced gun out of it's holster, but with every inch I moved my thigh burned with pain. I let out a small yelp that the walker heard and started to make it's way to me. Panicking I ripped the gun out of the holster and aimed the gun in line with the walker's head, making it fall to the ground right in front of my feet.

Rigged breaths were escaping my mouth as I tried to calm myself down. I looked back down at my thigh and gritted my teeth at the wound. I closed my eyes, gripped the blade and yanked it out of my thigh. Blood was seeping out, staining my trousers. I decided to rip my sleeve of my jumper and tied it around the wound. I pulled myself off of the ground.

"I better go back." I muttered in pain to myself. And with that I decided to walk in the direction of the farm. Hoping to see his face again.

Daryl....

[God I hate Carol. Lol I'm joking, I actually love Carol but I don't like Daryl's and Carol's relationship. I dont know to me it just doesn't seem right. Anyway hope you guys like this chapter. I'm thinking of maybe after completing this story, that I would do a Norman Reedus fanfic where the reader is a singer and is just starting her acting career and has a role in the walking dead. Let me know what you guys think. xx]
