A/N: Before we start this chapter, I'd like to give a small warning. If you get triggered by self harm and/or blood, you may want to skip this chapter. There is a lot of self hate towards Four. It goes into my version of his backstory and it contains suicide attempts, self-harm, depression, more depression, and even more depression. Oh, also homophobia, so take note of that also. Anyways, if y'all didn't turn back and wait until next chapter, then read at your own risk.
Four paced around the host's house. X chose to go to the hospital a few hours ago. Four had a horrible feeling that X won't make the surgery they had to do. He felt alone and afraid again.
//Flashback//
Four stood in his room, hearing his parents fighting outside the door.
"He's a mistake! His powers will go out of control! There's no way he can stay here!" Four's father yelled.
"How dare you say that about our son?! He is strong!" Four's mother yelled back.
"YOUR son! He is not OUR son!" Four's father yelled harshly.
"He is as much as my son as he is yours! He is our son, Two!" Four's mother yelled, her voice cracked as if she was going to cry.
"He is your son! I wan't nothing to do with that mistake you call a child!" Two yelled.
"Please, Two... Give him a chance...." Four's mother said, sobbing.
Four curled up in a ball, starting to cry. He hated when his parents fought, but he was always reminded that his father hated him and that he was a mistake.
As time past, Four became colder with the world around him. Two left Four and his mother behind.
"Son, can I talk with you...?" Four's mother asked.
"Come in..." Four mumbled, his gloomy, hatrid-filled voice resembled his father's. Four's door opened and Four's mother walked in.
"Four... I heard you were expelled from school, why was that...?" Four's mother asked in a calming voice.
"I got into another fight. Why do you care?" Four asked.
"You are extreamly intelligent, Four. You can't keep getting into fights..." Four's mom said. "Here, I got your new meds in today." Four's mom said, passing Four a pill.
Four stared at it. "Why do I need to take these...?" Four asked, glaring at his mother.
"Y- I don't want you looking so depressed, Four... This will make you feel better, alright...?" Four's mom said.
"Because I'm a mistake like he said...?" Four mumbled.
"N-no! You are no mistake, Four! You are a wonderful number!" Four's mom said, looking at her depressed blue son.
Four looked down at his arms, scars and new cuts spread acrossed them. "He was right... I'm a mistake. I've always have been." Four said, looking up.
Four's mom looked at her son. Four got up and ran out of his room, not wanting to talk to anyone. He ran out of his house, trying to get away. He went to the numeral playground to wait it out there. He saw a yellow x running around.
He was young and happy with his two parents. The yellow x looked at Four and waved to him. Four didn't know what to do. The yellow x walked towards Four, but his parents stopped him and scolded him for walking towards a "stranger".
True, he was a stranger, but people know about him. Except for young ones like the x.
When his parents weren't looking, the x slipped away and ran towards Four.
"Hello!" A small voice said. Four looked down to see the small yellow x. "Uh hi-" "Who are you?" The yellow x asked, clearly excited to meet someone new. "I'm Four..." Four said, looking down at the small x. "I'm X! My mommy said I shouldn't talk with you, but you're not bad!" X said, oblivious about Four. "Um... Yeah. Maybe you should go back to your mom." Four said. "What school do you go to?" X asked, avoiding Four's words. "None." Four replied. "Cool!" X said.
"X! Get your butt over here!" X's mom called. "Aw... Bye Four! I'll see you around!" X said, running back to his mom. For the first time in a long time, Four felt happy, but his new friend just HAD to leave, because Four is a monster, and X doesn't know.
Four got up off the bench and walked down the street. Someone threw a rock at his head, and Four turned around, glaring. "Hey asshole! Up here!" Four looked up to see Nine, one of his bullies from his old school. Four picked up the rock and chucked it at Nine's face. "Ow, fuck...!" Nine growled. He ran inside. Four ran away before he got in any more trouble than he already was.
He ran into the nearby forest, since nobody else goes there. He went through his mind and pulled out a razor with his magic. He held it, staring at the many cuts on his arms. He slashed at his arms with the razor, blood dripping on the grass around him and on the fallen log he was sitting on. He put the razor back into his mind inventory and let his blood drip around him. He opened old wounds and created new ones.
Four's vision started to get blurry, then he passed out from blood loss.
//End Of Flashback//
Four looked down at his arms, scars ran acrossed them. Tears were falling on the ground. He picked up a knife next to him and slowly cut a long line in his arm, blood imidiately starting to pour. He dropped the blood-covered knife and curled up on the ground, crying.
After about an hour of Four crying, he got up and looked around, his vision a bit blurry. He walked outside, trying to avoid the stares of the contestants. He forgot his sweater, which meant his scars showed to everyone.
"F-four..." Leafy said, walking up to the blue number. "A-are you alright...?" Leafy asked.
"Leave me alone..." Four mumbled. "But-" "I SAID LEAVE ME ALONE!!" Four snapped, running away.
A/N: A bit of an emotional chapter, but there's more to Four's backstory. I just didn't want to put everything, because it spoils the future of this fic. Notice how I didn't name Four's mom, but I gave Two a name? X's parents had no name also, but it was in the main view of Four, so he didn't know. Anyways, votes for this chapter:
