My futile attempt at understanding

I try, I really do
To understand something so degrading, mind boggling, brain jiggling
A thing they like masquerading
Wasting my time and effort
turning the most simplistic things into mass trials of debating.

They bellow and growl their answers out loud
Their shrieks and howls oh so very frightful
The very sound hurts my ears so and so
Alas here I am stuck with those so proud.

I try- I really do
To understand these oh so frightening, condescending concepts
I sit very still, not moving at all
quiet as a mouse, my silence said it all.

Looking at the book with a forlorn look
I shrug my shoulders and sink in further
With a pen in my hand, a determined gaze
I stare again and again and again but it won't stick
Suddenly it all came crashing
One by one

That was my futile attempt at understanding.

This truly explains how I feel during my maths class. I try really hard but nothing sticks. Hope you enjoyed the poem.
