"Ivy, you suck at cooking!" Hunter laughs hysterically.
I look down at the homemade pizza I tried to make. It looked like it had been smooshed and half of it had been burnt and half of it was still... dough.
My eyebrow twitched. I've never been that good at cooking, but how did this even happen?
Jordan sighs. "I'll order the pizza."
Dylan pats me on the back. "It doesn't look that bad."
I smile innocently at him. "You'll try it?"
He grimaces. "I was kidding. It looks horrible."
Stacey hits his arm. "Hey, it looks fine. Doesn't it, Hess?"
Hess hums in response, looking at the counter. I look at Stacey, my eyes asking her if she realized how weird Hess was acting. Stacey purses her lips and shrugged.
"Anywho, when will Mel be home?" Hunter asks.
I check my phone to see the time. "Like, half an hour. What do you want to do?"
Eli grins evilly. "We should have a summoning circle in the basement. Let's go."
The two boys run downstairs as Jordan is in the corner calling the pizza place, and the girls and Dylan all exchange glances. I shrug and follow behind them.

We gathered in a circle discussing the drama of couples that we knew.
"More importantly," Dylan says, leaning in for suspense. "Who do you think at our school is gay?"
"Tyler Johnson. One hundred percent," Jordan says, sure of himself.
"Dude, you're so right. Why didn't I think of that?" Hunter says, looking confused at himself.
"He turned down a girl who offered to suck him off. There's only that option or he's crazy," Eli shrugs.
I roll my eyes. Or, he's just not a douchebag. They're so used to stereotypes.
"You guys are gross," Stacey sighs in disgust.
Hunter scoots closer to her and smiles. "You love me."
Then I remembered the mall. Oh, shit. I forgot!
"Hey, who do you guys think I look good with?" Hess asks.
I clamp my mouth shut and Eli looks at Hess nervously. "Come on, Hess," Hunter says.
"Come on what?"
She really doesn't realize that Eli likes her?
Jordan shakes his head.
Rest In Peace, Eli.
Hunter has a mischievous look on his face as he leans towards me. "You know who I think Ivy looks good with? Definitely—"
"I can't see Ivy with anyone."
It gets dead silent as everyone looks at Hess, who looks around like she didn't even know what she said. "I mean, seriously," she laughs a bit. "Ivy's way too aggressive. I don't see her with any guy we know."
I sit there staring at her dumbly, not moving an inch. Did she really just say that?
"Hess..." Stacey says, looking at her with an accusing and confused look.
"What? It's true, isn't it?" she looks around for some support, and smiles a bit.
"You shouldn't say that stuff, man," Jordan says in a calm tone.
