"AGH!" thump I heard from my perch on the back of the couch. An, "I'm okay!" soon followed. I shook my head in amusement and went back to reading the book I had gotten from the library earlier that day. The Amber Chronicles it was called, and I was already halfway through the twelve hundred page book.

"Stop running around up there!" My sister yelled up the stairs with a basket full of laundry under her arm. She was the "mom" of the group, always making sure all fourteen of us were under control and fed. She and Mag were the only two people who worked, as everyone else was either too young or just really bad with people.

"Okay, mom!" was yelled back down to her, followed by loud steps and a crash that could only mean that they weren't following the order that was given them. By now, I had turned back to my book, but Saph's sigh and footsteps towards the kitchen told me that she had given up on trying to calm the boys down, opting instead to start lunch two hours early. I guess that's what happens when we have four superhumans with super metabolisms to match, and one guy that eats like a superhuman with a super metabolism in the house at once. The doorbell ringing snapped me out of my trance, and I smiled, knowing who it was. Saph came out of the kitchen, wiping her hands on the blue apron that she was wearing. She opened the door and gasped a bit. I knew that they would warm up to the new guests eventually, so I stayed in my spot, smiling into my book. When I heard the soft patter of someone slowly coming down the stairs, I looked up, only to see Peter cocking his head in an unasked question. But before I could answer, Wanda beat me to it. "Their good, I promise! They just need a place to stay since everyone else won't take them." When Peter looked like he was satisfied with her answer, she then turned to Saph, knowing that she was "queen" of the house. "So?" my girlfriend asked, obviously hoping that Saph said yes. After a few minutes of torturous silence, the two guests hanging behind Wanda awkwardly all the while, Saph sighed, put her fingers on the bridge of her nose, and said, "Fine. They can stay." "Yay!" She exclaimed, pumping her fist in the air. I giggled at her behavior, causing everyone in the room to then turn and stare at me. "What?" I asked innocently, and pretty soon everyone had turned back to the guests, making them shrink back in fear.

"Welcome to the family!"
