I Loved Him

Prologue

As I woke from my sleep I sat up and looked around my room. As the servant walked towards me she smiled and said, "Lady Lumi, your dress is ready" I got up from bed and held my arms out and stayed there while I waited for her to finish dressing me. As she finished, she brushed my hair as I sat down, my white hair was short so it wasn't really a problem. I stood up and patted down my dress, the  dress parted down near my thigh and was a nice snow white color with beautiful patterns on it, my hair had a golden hair pin, and I wore matching gold earrings. "My lady, your mother would like to talk to you" I nodded and walked towards my mothers' room, my gold heels clicked on the floor as I walked. Knocking on the door , I spoke, "Mother, you said you wanted to see me". 

"Yes I did dear" My mother responded as she opened the door, Her white hair was in a nicely done bun with a golden hair pin. Her  dress much more beautiful than mine, "Your father is going down to the low village to collect money, be a dear and company him" she said, "I'm busy today for I have to meet with the Empress" I only nodded as she shut her door. I sighed and left to go find my father.  "Lumi!" I turned and saw my father, "Hello father" he gave me a  big smile, "Won't you company your lonely papa today?" I smiled and nodded, "Of course father".

Once we got to the village which was named, Bamboo Village, we settled down in their inn. As I looked out the window I spotted a young boy around my age, his ink like hair bounced as he fixed his weapon. He wore a dark navy blue coat like suit on top of his white shirt, and matching dark navy blue pants. Then he looked up and we met eyes, startled I quickly moved away from the window and shut it. I sighed and walked down the stairs in the inn and walked out. As I walked around the small village, I came across a path that led towards the beautiful open sea. I walked on the path and saw many Bamboo guards walking around, Guess they're here just in case the Blackram attack. As I continued walking and I went onto a wooden docks, staring out into the open ocean.  "Oh hey it's you" I turned and met with the boy I saw earlier. "what is a high noble like you doing here" he asked, but I said nothing, Mother said to never speak to commoners. He raised his brow at me, his golden eyes locked with my pastel pink eyes. "Cat's got your tongue?" I shook my head, "No, I'm not allowed to speak to commoners" I quickly covered my mouth. he let out a laugh, "Why are you laughing?" I asked, "Oh man, you're funny, My name is Alex, what's yours?" The boy named Alex looked at me with curious eyes, "I'm Lumi Chen, the only daughter of the Chen Family" He looked at me, "you're the people grandpa told me about!" he shouted, "Grandpa said some nobles were coming to collect money" He frowned at me,  I just looked at him, what does he mean, Father said we were here to help the village. I shook my head."Father said we are here to help the village"  As I looked at him I noticed he had a dagger on his shoulder in a holder. I pointed at it, "What is that" he looked at his shoulder, "Oh, this is my weapon! Grandpa is training me how to fight!" he said proudly completely forgetting the earlier conversation. I only nodded. 

"Lumi!" I heard my father yell. I looked at him, "well nice meeting you Alex but I must go, my father is looking for me" As I walked back to the inn I heard him yell, "See you again soon Lumi!" as I turned I saw him wave furiously. I only bowed my head and waved back slightly. I opened the door to my room in the inn and saw my father working on his things, "Father I have a question to ask." He set down what he was doing and picked me into his lap. "Oh what is it? Papa will tell you anything." I nodded, "I heard from the commoners that we are to collect money? Yet father said we are here to help them them. Which is true father?" His pastel pink eyes looked into mine, "Do you believe what those commoners say or what you dear papa says?" He asked. "I believe you father" He smiled, "Good, now I must leave, someone needs help again" I only nodded as he left the room. 

It was already the next day and the sun was setting down and the sky looked like the stars were nicely painted onto the dark blue sky. "psst! hey!" I heard a familiar voice, I looked down the window and saw Alex, "What are you doing here Alex?" I asked, "Come down here and I'll show you!" he smiled widely. Letting out a sigh I made up my mind and went down to him. "Lumi come here!" He motioned for me to walk faster. "what do you want at this time of the night" I asked him as I rubbed my arm to give myself warmth. He only smiled, "follow me up towards the hill" he gently grabbed my hand and lead me towards a hill. On the hill was a small little campfire. He pointed upwards, "Look, aren't the stars pretty" I looked towards the sky, the beautiful shiny star glistening in the dark sky. "Yes they are" I softly spoke. "But not as pretty as you" He smiled again. I looked at him with a shocked expression. No one has ever called me pretty, only my father. "oh" I shyly look away from him. "I Brought you here tonight to tell you something Lumi" His voiced filled with happiness. "I like you a lot. When we met eyes when you first came here. Then when I saw you walk towards the beach I just wanted to talk to you so much" I looked at him, his eyes fixed on the sky as he continued to talk, "Grandpa said to stay away from you but I can't" He left out a small chuckle. When he was done talking he looked at me, his golden eyes filled with excitement and happiness. "You can't like me" I said softly, " I am a noble and you are a commoner, I'm not even allowed to talk to you, I'm sorry Alex but you can't like me. plus we only met for a days." I told him, hoping to get some sense into his head. 

He let out a small sigh, "I know we only met for a few days, I know you aren't allowed to talk to a commoner like me but then why did you follow me here tonight." he said looking into my eyes, I thought about it for a long time, why did I follow him out here, he could have killed me and threw my body away. "I don't really know.." I said , "I need to go, before my Father comes back and finds me gone" I stood up to leave but I felt him grab my hand. "let me go" I pull myself away from his grip and walk back to the inn, as I looked back I saw his eyes, they were filled with sadness and his tears spilled out his eyes. 

After a few more days My father and I left back for Zaiwei, and I never saw Alex, I never went to go say goodbye to him and he never came to say goodbye either.
