As day turned to night Alex walked around ZaiWei, having no where to go he only walked around the big place. He breathed into his colds hands, hoping his warm breath would warm his freezing hands. He felt someone's gaze on himself, he quickly scanned the area he was in, no citizens in sight. Where was he? Alex slowly grabbed his sharp dagger that was resting on his lower back side he held the blade downwards, trying to keep it out of the persons line of sight. He slowly walked, his ears perked towards a loud snap he quickly turned and saw a cloaked figure. They wore all black, he couldn't make them out at all.
"What is a fine young man like you doing here all by yourself" The unknown person spoke. It was a female. "Who are you" he asked. The figure shook their head. "I can't tell you. My master strictly told me to kill you, but you seem to have sharp ears." The woman spoke in a cold tone, "Guess my job won't be so easy tonight" The lady in black quickly ran towards Alex, her weapon in hands as she tried to hit Alex. To her surprise he moved much more faster than she did. Just who is he? she thought. He reached into his pockets and threw small shurikens towards the lady but she successfully deflected the shurikens. Alex clicked his tongue. Who sent her. He came to ZaiWei with no enemies. "I'm going to ask you this one last time, Who is your master" he asked with a cold serious tone. She looked at him, "Why should I bother, you'll die anyway" She ran towards him again and threw her blade at his stomach, successfully impaling his stomach, his crimson blood staining his clothes. "Fuck" he cursed under his breath. She pushed her cerulean colored sword deeper into his flesh, causing more blood to gush out. She kicked his chest making him fall onto his back, above him stood the lady, a proud look in her eyes. She stepped on him pulling her sword out. Alex held onto his open wound, blood dripping , He drew out his dagger and threw it but she deflected it. "weak" She raised her sword up high ready to dig her sharp blade into his throat. But before she could he threw a smoke bomb, causing her vision to go blurry. He quickly shoved her off of him and grabbed his dagger from the ground, quickly running behind her and roughly stabbing her in the back then dragging his dagger down, ripping her flesh as she let out painful screams, she fell onto the cold ground. As the smoke cleared she looked up at Alex. His cold deadly golden eyes showed nothing but blood lust, his eyes seem to glow in the dark night, his cold stare burning holes into her. "It's a shame I have to let you live" He said harshly squatting down and pulling her by her head, oh how he wanted to slit her throat to satisfy him but he didn't. Throwing her aside he stood up.
"You better hurry to your master before the poison kicks in and kills you for good. Tell your master that if he sends more of you after me, I will kill every single last one of you" His cold tone shook her to her core, how could a common person like him kill her? the best assassin in the world. He looked at his blood cover dagger, the green poison mixing in with the blood, making it boil. "Now run along" . As she weakly ran away he slipped his dagger back into it's holder, he weakly walked towards the bright roads of ZaiWei, he sat down on the hard ground, his blood dripping slowly. He groaned. He breathed heavily, he was losing his consciousness. What was he going to do now. He slowly closed his eyes but before he could fully lose consciousness he heard someone yell out his name. Who could it be?
Slowly regaining his consciousness he tried to sit up but the sharp pain near his stomach burned. He looked around, the room he was in was nice. It was already morning and the sun brightly shined through the circle shaped window, the sounds of the birds chirping. But who helped him? Then he heard the door to the room open. His golden eyes met with those familiar warm pink eyes. "Oh you're awake" Lumi spoke softly. "What happened to you last night?" She asked curiously as she dipped the wet towel into the cold water. Alex thought for a moment. "I was attacked by thieves." He lied. Lumi was surprised. Not many people were attacked by thieves. "You should be more careful" she squeezed the towel then gently set it down, "You were on the verge of death, If I wasn't there you would have died" Alex only smiled, "Thank you" Lumi only sighed, "Get dressed then rest here" she said as she walked towards the door. "I'm busy today, I can not accompany you today." with that she left him alone.
Lumi let out a sigh, who attacked him. It couldn't be thieves, ZaiWei would never have thieves. It had to be one of the nobles. But who? No one knew Alex he was just some random commoner. No noble would do anything to a random commoner, right? As she walked into Leafshade she walked towards the big building. Eric was waiting for her. "Good morning Lumi" he smiled. She smiled back, "Good morning Eric, did I keep you long?" Eric shook his head, "No, I just got here myself" Lumi sat down on the wooden chair, "Well then shall we eat then" Eric nodded as he called a waiter. After the ordered their food Lumi spoke, "Sorry about the other day, I just left you here." Eric looked at her, her moonstone colored hair was getting quite longer, her bubble gum pink eyes shined nicely, her pink lips that he so dearly wished he could kiss. 'How beautiful' he thought, how he wanted her to be his. Ever since childhood he secretly wished they could runaway with each other and lived happily. "Oh it's fine, I understand you don't want to get married to someone like me" he sadly smiled towards her. He felt her hands on top of hers. "I'm sorry Eric, but if I marry into your family, who knows what will happen to the Chen family. "He looked at her, her pink eyes filled with sorrow and pain. He moved his hands onto hers, "I won't let anything happen to you and your family, just trust yourself into me" she looked at him. "Are you sure you'll be fine with it?" He nodded, "As long as you have me by your side, Everything will be okay, so are you accepting it?" She sighed. "Let me think some more"
After they finished eating they went their separate ways. Lumi walked towards the book shop madam Fu ran. When she got there she saw Alex. Walking towards him she spoke, "Aren't you supposed to be resting in Gossamer Inn" she asked with her arms crossed. Alex turned around a small laugh left his mouth, "haha a small stab wound wouldn't hurt me" Lumi placed her hands on her forehead. "Idiot if you move a lot you'll open the wound again." She spoke, "But thank you for helping Madam Fu" She softly smiled at the taller male, making him blush red. "Well I'm here to buy a couple books, mind helping me?" she asked. The black haired male smiled "Of course any day" Lumi found a book she wanted but she couldn't reach it. "Great" she huffed as she walked around the shop trying to find a foot stool. Alex caught a glimpse of her struggling to reach the book she wanted. He smiled, even with her white heels she still couldn't reach the book. "Need help?" he asked, she turned towards him, " yes, can you help me reach that book" He only nodded as she walked towards her and grabbed the book then handed it to her. "Thanks" she smiled.
After paying and saying her goodbyes to Alex and Madam Fu she walked back home. As she entered her home she went to her kitchen and cooked a meal for her mother and father. As she walked up the wooden stairs she brought the food into her parents room, "Wake up" she said softly as she set the food on a wooden table beside the bed. She turned towards her parents and gently shook them awake. "Oh good morning dear" her mother spoke, "Morning mother" she smiled softly then proceed to wake up her father. As her father woke up she set their food on the wooden table and helped them sit on the chairs. "How are you doing mother" She asked in a soft tone as she watched her parents eat. "I'm feeling much better thank you dear" Lumi nodded, "And what about you father?" Her father picked up his wooden spoon, trying to eat his soup. "I'm dong fine as well" She hesitated to tell her parents about what Eric's mother said.
"Mother , Father..Mrs Lee has proposed that I marry Eric" Her parents looked at her, their eyes wide in shock. Then they looked back at each other and quiet talked to each other. Looking at their daughter again her father spoke, "When will you get married?" "I haven't accepted yet father, I don't want to marry Eric , we have known each other since childhood and he is like an older brother to me" she looked down at her intertwined hands. "What?! You haven't accepted yet?! Do you know that you can humiliate the Chen family by rejecting the Lee family?!" Her father yelled, "You will get married to Eric and that's final."
"Yes father" a sadden expression plastered on her face.
