Today was my first day of being a junior in high school. I wasn't looking forward to it, but I had to go anyways. So far, most of the classes were pretty okay if not completely boring, but one of the classes made the exception. It was math class. Yes, I'm a nerd. My favorite subject in school is math, but that's not the only reason why it's the best class I've had since this morning. It's because Luke Hemmings is in my class. LUKE HEMMINGS!

If you didn't know, he's the most popular guy in my grade. He's basically what you would call "The Alpha Male" if you were a wolf or something. I mean, yeah he's stuck up, out of my league, and kind of a narcissist, but he's soooo hot...AND SINGLE! Last school year, he broke up with Amber Bailey, the popular girl...or as everyone else would call her, "The Barbie Doll". Why? Because she looks so perfect (A/N: WHAT'S UP 5SOS SONG REFRENCEEE!!!), her personality is fake, and she's plastic. She got plastic surgery on her nose, tummy, and boobs. Anywaysss, this is how math class went...

I walked into class, scanning the room for my friends and people I know. I saw at least two people, but they weren't people I like. Oh well, I thought as I took a seat in the front row. I set down my bag, taking out my agenda and writing down the homework for today. "Homework: Make an outline of the table of contents" was written on the top right corner of the board with a pink marker. There was a neatly drawn flower before "Homework:" and another after "contents". She must be a pretty girly teacher...which also means she might be nice and easy to us! As I finished writing in my agenda, I heard someone give out a loud sigh. I looked up, and guess who it was. It was Luke! The only seat left was the seat next to me, so he sat down with acceptance.

"Sup," he said with a head nod. OH MY GOSH! I CAN'T...I JUST CAN'T. WHAT DO I SAY? HI? HEY? LET'S JUST GO WITH HEY...and maybe a wink.

"H...Hi...I mean Hey," I said. I looked away quickly, twiddling my thumbs. NO. I SCREWED IT UP. I'M SO DUMB! (A/N: No Lerin/person reading, I'm not calling you dumb.)

"Haha. I'm Luke. And you are?" LERIN LORETO. SAY LERIN LORETO. AND DON'T SCREW UP AGAIN!

"Nervous...I'm nervous", I paused, realizing what I just said. "I MEAN...[clears throat] What I meant was, I'm Lerin. Lerin Loreto." Nice save...right? Ugh, that was a complete fail.

"Nice na-", he was interrupted by the 'class in session/late bell', followed by the teacher.

"GOOD MORNING CLASS! Or afternoon...", she looked at the clock. "Uhhh...yeah. Good morning! My name is Mrs. Taylor, but you could call me Ms. Taylor. Whatever you prefer." Is she a new teacher? Or is she just that awkward? She seems pretty nervous. "Uhhh...sorry. I'm kinda tired. I forgot my coffee in the car. The first day of school is terrible for all of us." Welp, there's the answer. "Anyways, the seats you are sitting in now are the seats that you'll be sitting in for the rest of the semester, or school year, or until I move you, which would only happen if you're being annoying. You guys don't seem annoying. You all look like angels. Oh. Uhmmm...sorry if I treat you guys like little kids. I used to teach 1st graders." She continued talking.

"Does she seem cool to you?" Luke whispered.

"Uhhhh...yeah. Why?" I whispered back. He's actually talking to me. Holy crap.

"I'm trying to decide if I should stay in this class, or if I should switch to a different teacher."

"Oh. I think she's pretty chill." Really? Chill? Why did I say that...whatever. "I'm staying in this class for sure. I heard the other math teachers are mean," I said quietly. There. That should make him think about staying for sure. Right? Ugh. Please don't switch classes!

(A/N: This is the end of the first chapter. I'll keep updating whenever I can. I hope you liked the story so far!)
