Altered reality

The move

When Yanda comes back from the wedding, she comes home to a surprise.  Her rooms are gone. Or rather everything in them is gone.  She is livid.  She marches into the throne room.  

"Yanda, just the person i wanted to see.  I trust you had a good time at the wedding.  Since you are my only daughter, I've tried to be charitable toward your wants.  I undertsand you didnt like being matched to someone you don't know.  Therefor, I've made arrangements for you to live at the ice palace for you to get to know your betrothed.  Ive already had your things packed.  You leave tomorrow."  

She is so taken a back by this news that she can only stare ahead shocked.  "Yanda?"  Her father raises an eyebrow.  She blinks a few times trying to regain control but fails.  She can only blurt out "Thank you father, that was so thoughtful."  Her father gives her a benevolent smile and waves her off.  She turns to leave and walks out in a zombie state.  

She arrives at her empty room and sits on an empty bench in silence for a while still coming to terms that all she's known for all her live will be gone from her life tomorrow.  She will be in a new home filled with strangers, new customs, new food.  Tears start to fall from her face.  She forms fists and slams them down angrily.  How could her father do this to her?  How could he think this is what she wants?  How could he abandon her so readily?

Ying Kong Shi is not told that his future bride will be staying in the ice kingdom.  The arrangement was made between parents.  Her rooms prepared, the ice king and queen go to welcome the fire princess.

Later, Ying Kong Shi sees a new face in the living quarters.  Yanda is still in travel clothes and has yet to wash up.  He assumes it's a new maid.  He normally wouldn't address staff but he feels annoyingly drawn to this newcomer.  "How dare you appear so unclean before your masters!  Go and quickly change into the clothes befitting your station!"

Yanda in fact recognizes who is speaking to her from when she first had the misfortune of meeting him.  She is so offended she can't even formulate words.  She slaps him hard. "How da."  She's cut off and is swiftly pulled out of a window over a cliff and held in place in the air.  Ying Kong Shi walks up to her calmly, hand outstretched.  His eyes flash blue.  "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't let you fall."  His voice is calm but deadly.

"You idiot.  Because you'll start a war between fire nation and ice nation."  Realization begins to dawn on him.  He pulls her back in.  As he does so, he hears a gasp behind him.  He turns to see the only brother he trusts.  Ka Suo says nothing if he has seen his brother using powers he shouldn't have.  Instead, he focuses on Yanda.  "And who is this?  Brother, it looks like you've managed to make this poor woman angry."  Before he can answer, the ice queen walks in and smiles at the two princes.  "Oh!  I see you've met the princess of the fire tribe."  Ka Suo smiles at the news, but Ying Kong Shi eyes go wide with shock and worry.  She then turns to Yanda.  "Yanda, may I introduce my son Ka Suo, who's wedding you attended.  And this is Ying Kong Shi, the youngest of the ice princes and your fiance."
