Finally alone in her room, she finally gets the chance to sit and think. These past couple days have not been without constant change or surprise in her life. She has not had a chance to adjust mentally to any changes in her life. She hasn't been given a chance to process how she feels about any of it. She feels numb more than anything else. She sits for a while, unmoving among all her life's belongings already unpacked for her before she was brought to her rooms.
Sometime later, she wakes up. She must have fallen asleep. She doesn't want to cry or mope around her rooms, so she leaves to go explore. She isn't a prisoner after all. She finds the outdoor corridors quickly and starts walking, admiring the far off mountains and new sceneries. She thinks to herself that at least her surroundings are nice. She's sure to be aloud to visit her family. Though, thinking about that brings a heaviness to her heart. Her family was never kind to her, would they even welcome her with open arms? They never had before, there wouldn't be any reason for them to change that now. She finally stops when the plains are in view and stops there to let her mind wander while the gusty wind tickles her hair.
Ying Kong Shi is back in his room processing the past days events as well. He is sitting at his desk starring out at nothing. He curses himself for being so emotional around Yanda. Why did he act out like that? Especially since he thought she was only a simple servant. Will she reveal to the others his obvious power? That could cause complications for him.
His thoughts are interupted by his mothers voice as she walks briskly into the room. "Ying Kong Shi, I hear you have met the fire princess already. I hear she is very beautiful, though I have yet to meet her." She pauses to gauge her sons reaction to her words. He is, as he usually is, expressionless. She smiles. "I wonder if the fire king means to wed you to his daughter sooner by sending her here so quickly. Don't you think relations with the fire nation would improve dramatically if his daughter were wed to the ice king. Our relationship with the mermaid tribe is already good, I'm n..." She's cut off by her son, who siftly turns . " Mother! I know what you are suggesting. I have no intention of taking the crown from my brother. The mermaid tribe has been wedding their princesses to future ice kings for generations. Why change this practice and risk angering the mermaid tribe?" Another small smile while she heads back to the doors. "Well, I do look forward to your wedding. I'm very pleased to see that the king has granted you a high ranking fiance. You should work on getting to know your future bride rather than moping in your rooms. As she leaves, Ying Kong Shi seems calm, however his clenched fists betray his mood. His eyes flash blue and he leaves his rooms.
He goes to the ice plains to think but instead finds his brother at the other end. He is talking with a kingdom guardian. She is on horseback. He begins to head towards them, but hesitates when he sees his brother reaching out to grab her arm. Something about his brothers body language leaves him feeling confused. In fact now that he thinks about it, the whole scene seems strange. He decides to stay behind, but continues watching from where he is. He is not the only one watching the scene.
