Speak Now — A Harry Styles One-Shot

Don't say yes, run away now. I'll meet you when you're out of your tux at the back door. / I'll meet you when you're out of the church at the back door. / Don't wait or say a single vow. My time's running out and, they said 'speak now.'

---

My eyes rapidly skimmed over the black and white pages of the Sarah Dessen novel, “Just Listen,” yet my mind refused to comprehend what the letters were spelling out seeing that all my thoughts were set on my curly haired best friend, Harry Styles.

I absentmindedly ran a hand through my tangled auburn locks and let out a frustrated groan. There was absolutely nothing that I could do.Harold was getting married in a few hours and there was nothing I could do to forbid him from doing so.

It’s not like I was his mum and I could just distastefully disapprove Amanda. With her ginger hair, an even fiery shade of red than Sheeran and icy blue eyes it’s not a wonder why Harry fell for her in the first place. She was absolutely stunning. She’d make one hell of a bride than I ever would, walking down the isle with her head held high, chin pointed out having, an aura of confidence which I longed for surrounding her.

If were Harry's bride, there’s a possible chance that I might trip and fall whilst making my way down the red runner rug, humiliating myself in front of my friends and family.

Maybe it’s for the best. Maybe fate is trying to send me a message. A message that me and Harry weren’t meant to be. Maybe there’s someone who’ll actually want me. Someone who’ll love me instead of me having to share my one-sided love with Harry.

”Macy?” I heard a deep muffled voice from outside of my door. I jumped slightly before tumbling out of bed and dashing quickly into my bathroom to check my appearance in the mirror. I almost flinched when I saw myself.

My gray eyes were clouded over with stress, blood-shot with dark bags shaded in beneath them. It didn’t help that my hair looked like a bird had just laid eggs in it. My clothes were disheveled from hopping out of bed so suddenly and my nose was stuffy, full of snot from having myself cry my heart out last night.

Why, oh why did someone have to visit me at this time in the morning? I mentally questioned myself as I pulled my hair into a messy pony tail. I ran out of my room once I heard the impact of a fist on my wooden door.

”I’m coming!” I squealed as I halted to a stop in front of the door. I twisted the knob, opening the door slightly so whomever was waiting outside wouldn’t be scarred forever by seeing my horrible appearance this fine morning.

To my relief it was Liam and Danielle. I sighed briefly before opening my door even wider so they can enter my clustered room in which I had yet to clean up. As they entered, I made my way to the window-seat and removed all of the clothing I had seated there to make room for them.

”Hi, guys.” I smiled happily even though I was feeling nothing but inside.

A small frown fitted across Danielle’s plump lips and before she could say anything, Liam smiled back at me, a smile that almost looked sad, and said, “Hello Macy! How are you feeling?”

“What do you mean how are you feeling?” My eyes narrowed in on Danielle as I answered Liam’s question. “My best friend is getting married. I’m ecstatic! I’m feeling great! I just can’t wait for the wedding, can’t you?”

”Cut the act, Mace.” Danielle sighed as she leaned against the window-pane, arms crossed.

”What ac–” I started only to get cut off by Liam’s velvety voice.
