The aromatic coffee bubbled in the pot. Her heart beat faster at the thought of the sweet nectar running through her body. After returning to her room at ten past three, she forced herself to sleep but the task was made even more difficult by the sound of her best friend's moans from the next room over. She'd think that a multi-millionaire like Normani would invest in some solid, sound-proof walls for her prized estate, but that detail must have sorely been overlooked by her contractor. Normani's grunts came between 'Oh my god's and 'Yes, baby, right there's. Camila's attempts to block off the noise were futile so she decided to go downstairs to the den where she was able to catch two hours of shut-eye on Normani's leather couch.

It was not the most comfortable night of sleep. It started off with thoughts of Shawn plaguing her mind and ended with her Dinah's piercing cries of pleasure. But nothing quite messed with her mind the morning after as much as the blunt force trauma of Y/n's words.

I won't talk to you about your feelings. I won't hold you when you can't sleep. And I'm not going to fuck you to help you move on.

Y/n had her figured out more than she, herself, had known. The last few days, she felt like her mind and her heart were wandering aimlessly. Her intentions were unclear and she had no idea where all this uncertainty was stemming from. People, who knew her well, noticed changes in her personality and while she wished she could just tell them, she knew she couldn't because it was hard for her to look at herself and figure out why she was acting so different. Parts of herself didn't want to be introspective because she felt guilty about telling Shawn. If she hadn't revealed her thoughts and feelings, he wouldn't have slept with Hailee and they wouldn't be in this clusterfuck of a situation. Another part of her didn't want to analyze her thoughts and actions because she was scared. She was fucking scared that she was doing things that, for once in a really long time, felt natural to her.

"Oooh, coffee!" Dinah ran towards the pot and poured a mug for herself. She leaned over to Camila and planted a wet kiss on her head. Camila grimaced and wiped her forehead. She didn't want to know what Dinah's lips had just touched.

Normani followed into the kitchen with the morning paper in her hand. "Good morning, Camila." she smiled, "Up early today, are we? Sleep well last night?"

"Yup, like a baby." she lied. She didn't want either of them to worry about her. She could tell that the couple were enjoying their time together and Camila wanted the two of them to relax. Normani was one of the the most hard-working women in her sport, and her generosity knew no bounds. The woman deserved to sit back and enjoy her girlfriend for the short break she had.

"That's good to hear. Speaking of babies." Normani continued, "I've got an event with the Make a Wish foundation this afternoon at St. Michael's Children Hospital. Me and Y/n are going on behalf of Inter Miami, meeting kids, signing autographs, getting ribbed on by older kids who think Normani Kordei sucks because she doesn't score, and how Y/n Gonzalez is the best... Anyway, I'd love it if you guys would join me. I'm sure the kids at the hospital would be thrilled to get two singers for the price of two soccer stars."

Camila and Dinah both nodded, "That sounds great, babe," said her girlfriend. "I can't wait," added Camila. It was just the thing she needed to keep her mind off her rollercoaster of a personal life.

Normani, Dinah and Camila arrived at the hospital, met with the board of directors and the representatives from the foundation. They learned about the children and the terminal diseases that afflicted most of the kids in that particular wing of St. Michael's. As soon as they were briefed on safety measures, representatives from the foundation and staff of the NWSL prepared the toys they were to give away to the kids.

As the singers helped sort through all the toys and Normani gave her statement to a few local reporters in the room, Y/n arrived. She took off her dark sunglasses as soon as she entered and walked towards one of the staff members. Camila noticed that she tried her best to avoid eye contact with her; she was focused on her conversation, not bothering to pay attention to the chief of the hospital who was thanking the NWSL and Make a Wish for their support.
