In Bloom.

A/N: Hi friends. I've been super sick and in a bad place lately. Please forgive me for neglecting things.

The morning light hit my eyes and I groaned at how bright the room was. Loki was sleeping next to me his arm haphazardly laid around my torso. Birds were chirping and I could hear the quiet bustle of the city below us. My dress was strewn on the floor and my hair I could tell was in tangles.

"Loki," I whispered. He groaned and pulled me closer. I hadn't realized how sore my body was until now.

"It's morning love. We have to wake up if you don't want anyone to get suspicious," I told him. Horns sounded from the bifrost announcing a return. Most likely Thor's return.

"Let them wonder. I don't want to move," Loki said. I flipped over and kissed his cheek before climbing out of bed. I hastily closed the curtains. Not like anyone could see me from the ground but I still felt quite vulnerable in my naked state. I stepped quickly into the shower room and turned it so that the water was hot. The small amount of make up I had on yesterday was smeared on my face.

"your brother has returned home," I said telepathically. My voice sounded gentle and quieter this way. Less disturbing.

"I heard. Come back to bed pet,"  Loki pleaded with me.

"I can't, I'm sure with Thor back we will be summoned any minute now," I said out loud as I stepped into the shower letting the water cascade over me. It felt good to have something warm on my skin. I heard the door creak open as Loki got in behind me. He pressed against my wet skin and I felt how hard he was. The thought of a round two brought blood racing to my cheeks.

"Could I wash your hair my love?" Loki asked me as he was squeezing shampoo into his hand.

"If you insist," I said and I felt his hands in my hair massaging my scalp. Any time someone played with my hair I was always prone to fall asleep. This was no different. I sighed contentedly.

"Let's plan a little get away today. Somewhere outside of the castle. There is still so much of our little city for you to see. Things seem to be getting repaired now," Loki said.

"Do you really think that is safe? There are a lot of people who would like to see you in chains," I said as he washed the soap out of my hair.

"I am the god of mischief. I can create a disguise. Don't fret my dear. It'll be fun," Loki said. There was a knock at my door and I knew we were being summoned.

"Hurry up. We have places to be," I said and kissed him chastely as I made sure the rest of the shampoo was gone before climbing out of the shower. The small look of disappointment from not getting his way almost did me in.  I hate that we are constantly being interrupted.  I quickly dried off and walked into my closet grabbing a darker green dress. Usually I would put more effort into my appearance but today seemed to be quite rushed. There was a guard outside of my door as Loki and I emerged.

"Not a word will be said about this or I will kill you," I said to the guard. I don't think he was expecting such a fierce comment from me as his face seemed to turn white and all he could do was nod.

"I didn't know you could be so commanding," Loki said tangling his fingers with mine.

"Must be something I learned from watching you," I said realizing I hadn't ever addressed someone like that before.

"The domination looks good on you dear," Loki said. I smiled as we continued to walk into the throne room. Just before we opened the large doors I let go of Loki's hand. "Is there something wrong?" Loki asked me.

"No. I just do not think that having Thor and the King knowing about our relationship will be of value to anyone. Plus if Sigyn is inside I don't want to start drama," I said mentioning Loki's wife for the first time. I knew they were not divorced, yet he never speaks of her. She shows up for important meetings every once in a while as Loki is the only one out of the two princes who is married.

"She shouldn't be a problem. We both know where we stand on that. However if you should want to meet my children," Loki said. Interesting he would bring up the children he almost never sees. Is he really capable of such a love?

"Maybe a later time love. Let's see what your brother has to say," I said and gave him a reassuring kiss just before opening the door. I wanted him to know I did not want to fight and wasn't consciously trying to start a fight.  Thor stood inside, a valiant expression on his face. I'm sure that meant that he had caught whoever he was looking for.

"Brother," Loki said. The casual demeanor I had seen this morning was completely gone now that he was in the presence of Thor. It was as if he became a rigid statue because he had something to prove.

"Loki. Vengeance has been had," Thor stated with the smallest smile. He was still grieving much like Loki. Only Loki had found a distraction to the sadness.

" Anything else to report of your travels?" Loki asked as the double doors at the end of the room opened.

"No, however, I must return to midgauard to help with a terrorist attack. One I am grateful that does not include you," Thor said to Loki with a smile.

"How could I do anything when you have threatened me so violently with death brother?" Loki said with a comical look. Odin had entered the room and of course looked rather mad.

"Thor my son I am glad you have returned safe. Why do you not obey my orders?" Odin asked. It was almost funny hearing him be so gentle to his offspring.  Then again why be gentle to loki a child he didn't even want. I gazed over at Loki trying to read his expression but, like any good poker player. there wasn't anything to read.

"Father it had to be done. I am sorry you do not see eye to eye with me on this particular subject but it is how I grieve. Now like I was telling Loki I can not stay. I must go help midgaurd against terrorism in Vienna. Please forgive my absence and should you need anything do not hesitate to ask sif. That goes for you as well Frey. She is at your disposal," Thor said turning to me. His warm and almost cheery face made me feel like a child being told that dad was going away on a business trip.

"Thank you Thor, however I believe i'll be fine. Just take care of my home," I said reminding the room that I did not belong here.

"Are you sure you must meddle in the affairs of the humans?" Odin asked slightly pained to see his son come and go so quickly.

"Yes father, I swore an oath to protect them," Thor said turning to stare out a the city as it was rebuilding below us.

"What about Asgard?" Odin asked. "Did you not swear to protect your own home?" Odin pushed further.

"Father if I do not protect midgard this is where they will come next. Besides they have a very capable king looking over them," Thor said with a heartfelt smile. Odin was indeed fit to protect his people. The tales of his battles were gruesome.

"Some king... wouldn't even tell me I was adopted until it benefit him," Loki finally spoke with me. In this moment I was glad to have this special talent apart from the others. Now he didn't have to hold his feelings in.

"We should talk about that later," I said back trying to keep my eyes focused on the other two men in front of me. I still had a lot to learn about being stealthy.

"Father if you do not need us any longer I should like to get back to reading. Frey has also requested I give her a lesson in holding in anger so that her true colors do not show," Loki said reminding Odin that like Loki, I should also  be considered dangerous.

"Go," Odin said waving his hand and turning. "Frey if anything at all goes wrong call for me and I will be at your side," Odin said. I knew he meant well but the comment would only further annoy Loki. How could I be like him and be accepted and yet he can not be accepted.

"You really must get better at shielding your mind pet," Loki whispered in my ear as we walked out.

"I'm sorry. Perhaps you should get better about not reading peoples minds," I said playfully back.

"Come on. I have something to show you," The god said while grabbing my hand and pulling me along behind him. I guess this is where our secret get away begins.
