I was in shock. Just standing there the only thing I could hear was my own breathing.
What had happened? How many places have hidden passages? Why is this here and how did Brandon know about it?
"What are you scared?" Brandon said obviously challenging me to risk it.
What if he was going to kill me? What if it was a trap? What if he kidnapped Erica? What if I'm just over thinking and this is completely normal.
So I did what any normal person would do I followed the him down the creepy staircase.
There was a long hallway that seemed never ending from my view. There was a door every few feet. Why couldn't every one here just stay in a room above ground?
"Come on were room 1087D so we have a long walk ahead of us." he said
"I'm not moving until you tell me what's going on" I said becoming as stiff as possible.
He sighed "Fine I'll tell you when we get to the room." He said starting to walk.
I still stood there wondering why we were here and what this was.
"Are you coming or what." he said looking back at me.
"Um ya" I said as I began walking speedily down the long hallway.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Brandon's POV
The only thing I could think the entire walk to the room was how amazing Katie was. She was so brave and she was also beautiful.
I know it sounds stupid and I sound like I'm falling for her, but I'm not, I can't fall for her.
If I did she would end up like Emily, gone and I couldn't loose some one else I cared for.
I may not love Katie but if I ever did it would only put her in danger. So all I could do was try not to fall for her.
We were currently standing in front of the door to the room. What was I going to tell her? How would I explain this? Well I guess there's no point in lying to her she would have figured it out at some point.
We walked into the room, sat down on the couch, and waited for an explanation. Well how do I start.
Katie's POV
I sat waiting for a explanation. What was taking him so long to explain?
He began "Please don't think I'm crazy when I explain this." he pleaded.
"Why would I think your crazy from what I saw today I'll believe anything."
"Ok guess I'll just rip the bandage off." he took a deep breath "Do you belive in things like werewolves and sorcerers." he asked.
Wow no wonder he told me not to think he was crazy. But how am I going to believe in that. It just sounds insane. But, a day ago I wouldn't believe that there was a staircase that lead to a long hallway underneath the streets. So I decided to ask for proof.
"Ok I do think you might be a little crazy but if you give me proof then I might believe you." I replied.
He smiled "Ok good thing I brought something just encase you didn't believe
me." he said going over to his bag.
"No no were is it!!" he exclaimed throwing everything out of his backpack.
He griped his back right below his left shoulder blade.
"It's gone" he whispered to himself calming down and taking his hand off his back.
I spotted a note on the floor it looked as if it was just placed inside of the backpack.
I picked it up and read: I heard your looking for something. Don't worry it's at my old base and I don't think you need directions. Katie your brother was there this morning maybe he can direct you. Or maybe your sister can oh wait she's here with me. Don't worry she won't be able to feel pain in awhile well lifeless bodies don't feel anything. Just remember I'm always one step ahead of you. Good Luck.
