The cigarette end glows brightly in the darkness as he takes a deep pull. He blows the smoke out in a long exhale, finishing with two smoke rings that dissolve in front of him, pale and ghostly in the moonlight. He sighs, anger and boredom significant in his eyes. He couldn't be less concerned about anyone. If he didn't deserve happiness neither did anyone else. He didn't talk much. Just kept to himself. Because they didn't know the pain he was feeling. They never would. His deep thoughts were interupted by a push which made him stumble in surprise.
"What the.." his eyes narrow down to see a small figure, wavy hair cascading down her back. Her eyes were chocolate brown. She was beautiful. Not sexy or hot, but beautiful. He couldn't stop staring at her. She blinks, long eyelashes fluttering and licks her lips before gulping.
"Um.. im sorry. I just.."
The words tumble from her lips, obviously intimidated by his appearance. He wouldn't blame her. His arms and neck covered in tattoos, the cigarette in his mouth. He takes it out.
"What do you want?" He asks, not at all surprised at the way the harsh words had rolled from his tongue.
"Nothing.. ill get going"
She tells him, eyelashes fluttering and rushes ahead, flustered.
He frowns.
"Hey!" He shouts ahead to her.
She turns around and waits for him to speak. He contemplates whether he should say what he was just thinking.
"Whats your name?" His tone is soft, he surprises himself.
She smiles a beautiful smile which makes him melt inside,
"Sarah" she tells him, and turns away to resume her path then.
And Niall decides right now and then that he wants to see that smile everyday and as long as he lives.
