After a long day I finally made a breakthrough in this case. I lent back in my chair and sighed.
"Detective Graham, looks like you're done!"
My co-worker said with a smile on his face "No, not really. You know that Williams murder case I was working on?" I got up from my chair. "Well, I know who did it, it was the mother. Her prints were all over the scene and she claims she wasn't there but we have witnesses saying she only left the house after 11pm, that was 10 minutes before she called the police." I explained I couldn't help but smile.
"I'll send some people on it... You coming tomorrow?" He asked leaning on my desk.
"Thanks and uuh no. I'm taking the day off." I answered getting my coat off my chair. I waved goodbye to my co-workers and left the building.
Why did I park so far? I asked myself. Bright lights coming from a bar caught my eye. Well its only 10pm I could use a drink. I thought. I walked towards the bar, the sign read "Bubalahs Bar". I wonder who Bubalah is. I stepped into the building and walked towards the bartender. I sat on a stool "Can I have a water, please?" I asked the bartender while putting my hair into a bun.
"Yes,sir!" The young boy said pouring me a glass of water.
I looked around the room and I caught a man sitting in a booth looking at me. His bright blue eyes popped from the darkness that surrounded him. I drunk some of my water and looked back at him. There was something about him that I found attractive or am I just delusional and he's just a random guy.
The man got up and started walking towards me. I could tell that he was much taller than me. He could range around 5'10 or 5'11.
"Hey." His raspy voice startled me. He had a arm of tattoos and a scruffy beard with jet black hair. He was wearing a shirt that hugged his muscles. "You gonna say something to me or you just gonna stare?" He asked with a glass of wiskey in his hands.
"O-oh yeah uh-um my name is Elliott!" I stuttered out.
"I'm Dominic. Never seen you around here before Elliott. You a new comer?" He asked.
"Y-yea I just saw it and decided  to come here." I answered.
He sighed "These streets aren't good after dark for a pretty boy like you." He said looking at me intensely. He looked as if he wanted to pounce on me right then and there. I realized what he said and my face turned a bright red.
I let out a little chuckle "I think I can handle my self!" I assured, he gave me a smirk and drank the last of his whiskey.
"Hey, Mike give this man a whiskey. On me." He said to the bartender.
"Oh-uh I'm not really supposed to be drinking. I gotta drive home." I said in a stern voice. He looked at me with his bright beautiful blue eyes. I retracted my statement and told him that one drink couldn't hurt. The bartender gave me my drink and me and Dominic talked for what seemed like forever.
"So,what do you do for a living?" He asked.
"Oh I'm a detective!" I answered happily "You?" I continued. He didn't give me an answer and looked at a clock.
"It's getting late, I should go." He said sliding money on the counter for the bartender.
"W-what so soon?" I asked he shook his head yes "Well I hope I see you again." I smiled at him. He gave me a smirk "You will." He went out the door.
"You should be happy." the bartender stated cleaning a glass. He could tell that I was confused.
"Dom usually sits in that booth by himself, this is the first time I actually heard him talk to anyone before. I guess you're the lucky one." The bartender chuckled to himself. I got up from my seat and thanked the bartender, he gave me a simple wave and I left to go home.
