I walked back to the precinct with Fiona following. "Why did I say that to him, he just wanted to have a friend." I slapped my face "No, work comes first.... Plus he steals, but he might steal for a reason.. There is no reason for stealing though. Ughhh, Fiona what do you think?"
Fiona let out a loud bark.
"You're right, I should say sorry." I walked into the precinct "No, he doesn't deserve a sorry.... Ughh why is this so harrdd?!"
"Eli, who you talkin to?" I turned around.
"Gah! Amelia! I wasn't talking to anyone! What are you talking about?"
She smirked "So you were talking to yourself?" I blushed.
"Ye-yea... But uh what are you doing downstairs?"
She folded her arms "I saw you talking to some guy and you guys looked like you had an argument so I came down here to make sure everything was okay." She grabbed my arm and looked for marks "Are you okay? Did he hurt you?"
I snatched my hand back "Y-yea I'm fine. I just said somethings to him that I'm kinda regretting." The elevator dinged and we both got in.
"What did you say?" I started fiddling with my hands. "Let's hypothetically say that you have a friend, who steals but your a cop and you have to put them away because they steal but you don't want to. What would you do?"
She put her hands in her pockets "Hm. I dunno, it depends on what they're stealing, did they hurt anyone in the process?"
"They steal small amounts money and no they don't hurt anyone." I answered
"Oh, then no. I would just tell them to stop and if they do it again threaten to take them to jail. But I wouldn't do it 'cause they're my friend."
            I sighed.
"That was a very detailed hypothetical, is that what you was talking about with that guy?" Amelia asked.
"What! No, I mean, it's just a hypothetical... Not real." I answered.
We got off the elevator. "Graham, you are one weird guy.. It's gonna be fun workin' with you."
I rolled up my sleeves "Right.." I sat at my desk with Fiona and continued to finish my work. A few hours passed and Captain Rosette came out of his office. I felt the air get colder. There's something about Captain Rosette that makes everyone scared.
"Detective Graham, I'm sorry that you missed your day off. You look stressed, you can take another day if you want." He said looking down at me.
"Y-yea, I would like that." I answered, Captain Rosette laughed and patted me on the back
"I'll take care of your dog. So you don't have to worry about anything." My eyes widened.
"Really? Thats very nice of you. Are you sure?" He nodded his head and smiled.
"Of course! Just text me what she eats and how to handle her." I smiled.
"Y-yes sir." Captain Rosette called Fiona and they both walked to his office.
Amelia looked back at Captain Rosette and looked at me. "What the hell was that?" I shrugged
"I dunno, he hasn't been that nice since.. Since.. Never." She rolled her chair next to me.
"Then why would he decide to be nice now?" I tried to think of a reason.
            "No clue." I answered.
"You guys trying to find out why Captain is so happy?" Officer Tracy asked.
"Yea, you know?" Amelia and I said in unison.
"He told us while you two were downstairs, he said somethin' like his nephew decided to quit stealing and finally found someone he likes." Tracy explained.
"He has a nephew, who steals?" Amelia asked.
"I guess so." Tracy said then walked towards the break room.
"Didn't you just ask me what I would do if my friend stole?" Amelia asked.
"Um yea? What does that have to do with Rosette's nephew?" Amelia rolled her eyes.
"That hypothetical situation was an actual situation that happened to you. And I have a sneaky suspicion that your friend is Captain's nephew."
I sat back in my chair, "You're one good detective, yes, the situation was real but no, he is not Captain Rosette's nephew."
She rolled her chair closer to me "But he could be." She's too close, I thought to myself. I moved my chair a little to the right.
"I doubt it." I checked my phone "8:34pm" it read. "I should get going." I told Amelia
"Yea, it is getting late, I'm gonna go too." She told me. We both got up and walked out the building.
