Chapter 6
-Climbing to the Top in Order to get to the Bottom
As the trio sat at the very top of the tree, the Echape swarm below was becoming more and more like an ocean. Some had left earlier to get the rest of their pack, and the forest for below swelled with the massive size of the pack, and the only emotions down there were anger, confusion, and the extreme urge to kill a certain three people in a tree. The mass of them swelled double making there fourty full grown Echape a whole hundred feet below on the hard, cold forest floor. The anger of the Echape slowly doubling within a short hour period, and with the growing number, the anger below was growing enough to fill a couple greedy kings who haven't recieved their taxes of the people for weeks.
"Ok, so what we could do is climb higher" Nilk said.
"That doesn't even make sense." said Nonna, disbelief in both the eyes of Nonna and Iccim.
Nilk laughed a little. "I wasn't done yet." Nilk said with a smile.
"Oh, I knew that, I was just testing to make sure you were listening." Nonna said her and Iccim getting a big grin on their face.
Nilk smiled, "My plan is that we go higher in the trees, just above the canopy." he paused to make sure he had the attention of his two comrades then he smiled widely. "Then all we have to do is run on the top of the trees. They can't see us, and they can't get up to our level," his smile grew slightly. "Then we just run out of here, get to a tree farther away and climb back down to the forest floor." Nilk smile likely reached its maximum, and he looked at his two friends interested to see what they were thinking of his plan.
"Sounds fun!" Iccim exclaimed with a smile, "But, wouldn't we have to jump to the different tops of a tree?"
"Thats the beauty of this plan, its almost so thick up there most of the spots are feet hit will be so close together it will almost be like walking on the ground." Nilk said smiling.
"Hmm, and your sure about this?" Nonna asked a smile coming to her face as the thought of running on the top of the forest canopy came into her mind, imagining just how cool the three of them will look.
Nilk smiled the same image appear into his mind, "Totally sure, if you look up you see how thick it is, had kind of a lot of time to think while I was laying down there."
"Yeah, thanks for the help, you lazy bum" Iccim teased with a smile.
Nilk smiled at Iccim and Nonna, his two friends have saved him a couple of times, and just saved him again, it was high time in his mind that he return the favor, and if it meant doing something dangerous that could actually work and get them out of the forest he was more than for it, and excited himself to be running across the tops of the trees and to safety, hopefully, he would do it. The three smiled at each other thinking the plan sounded pretty solid.
"Lets do it!!" Iccim exclaimed with determination filling her eyes and taking her smile over.
"Yeah, Im all for it, lets rock on the top!!" Nonna said with excitement and her voice and her smile unfaultering.
Nilk nodded and he reached up to the branch just a short five feet higher up, as he grabbed hold he looked at his two friends and smiled widely and with confidence in his eyes he pulled himself up with ease, and the three began climbing the couple hundred feet to the top.
-A couple hours later-
The trio exhausted from climbing, stopped for a short break, about twenty feet from the top. They all three sat, well more collapsed, on a wide branch.
"Never doing this again." Nilk said while breathing heavily, perspiration dotting all over his forhead and on his neck.
Iccim smiled slightly and laughed a little.
