Perfect Timing

My breathing hitched as three unknown intruders made their way into the clearing. The trees loomed behind them intimidatingly as a small stream roared, separating the blue territory and the red territory.
My hands tightened around the grip of my sword, which was still too big for my baby hands, and I swallowed my fear.
This is it, I thought, I can prove myself that I'm not just a scary daughter of Hades.
I charged to one on the far right and 2 others joined me, Pollux and Butch.
Butch jabbed his spear to the one on the far left skilfully and dodged the opponents move quickly whilst Pollux was growing vines on all of their legs.
However, the one I challenged was a fast thinker and she jumped into the stream, splashing everyone and with the hilt of her sword, she shoved Pollux into it too.
She laughed and I realised that I was against Annabeth. Her grey eyes analysed me and she must've decided that I was not good enough to waste time on because she bolted.
I scrambled to my feet and started to run after Annabeth but she just left me to curse in frustration.
I calmed myself and turned to face the two people who came to attack and they were both safely tied up.
The sleeping guy, Clovis, managed to hypnotise them to sleep but apparently he also hypnotised himself.
At least he got the job done, I thought to myself.
Julia and I lugged the sleepers and sat themselves by a tree. I was about to high five Julia but I was distracted when I heard the sounds of running footsteps and the rustling of trees - we weren't alone.

I held my necklace in suspense as I awaited for something to happen but the black gem glowed with a dark lavender light and turned into a sword in my hands.
The handle was silver and when I held it, it fit perfectly to my hand. It wasn't like a traditional sword from a medieval play but it was curved so it sorta looked bent and the handle was a c shape so my hand could place itself in and not worry about me losing grip of the weapon. The actual blade was so dark black would've been an understatement. The metal seemed to absorb light and life and instead emitted an ominous purple glow. After running my finger along the tip, the hairs on my arm stood up like they were all welcoming the sudden cold temperature. Not to mention, I was more comfortable in this ; the sword didn't feel random and bulky in my hand but like it was just perfect to me.

Julia smiled,"nice sword. But I think that was more of the blue team dashing past us, we need to hurry."
I nodded, getting over my happiness and awe of the sword and bolted towards our camp.
I remembered there being about 5 people guarding the flag and in my opinion, they would definitely need more backup.

I slowed down when I noticed vibrant, blue helmeted people climbing into the trees.
I looked at the flag and saw that everyone, who were supposed to guard the flag, were just talking and practically ignoring the flag.
After biting my lip in annoyance, I took a silent deep breath. I had to find out how to get the flag to a safer spot.
Sadly, I didn't realise that I had no time to think.
Four intruders jumped down and started to attack each of them. I watched in awe as the two teams fought, they were both so skilled and smart I was almost jealous. I glanced down at my sword enviously, wishing that I was that skilled with my sword but I had to work to get to a point like that. And I detested work.
A blur of bronze and blue zoomed towards the flag and snatched it. I yelled out of shock and started to chase it, though with all that heavy, Greek armour, it was very hard.
All these demigods have cool powers and are talented and I just have the power to scare people, I thought bitterly to myself.
Luckily for me, they stumbled and did a somersault, losing the flag. My eyes flashed with excitement when I saw the opportunity to scoop the flag up but that hope was quickly trampled when another blue-feathered person yanked it away.
The two people nodded like they had a plan and the one who stumbled dashed away.
I felt concern grip my chest but dismissed it.
My eyes locked with the flag-holder's sea-green eyes, a troublesome smile and strands of black hair messily draped on the person's forehead and it slowly dawned on me that it was Percy.
Every curse word under the sun will not be able to explain how much I'm gonna be messed up, my thoughts announced dramatically.
