I only remember fragments of that day, but those bits and pieces are as clear as crystal.
I had family in Indiana, and they would come over once and a while, and I was super excited that day because my half brother and sister where visiting after 1 year of not seeing them. I so happy that they were coming over that when they finally arrived, I didn't notice what changed about my sister, Sophia. She was so cold towards us and when I walked up to her to give her a hug, she shuddered and stepped away from me, as if I was harboring a deadly disease. And the same thing happened with my other younger sisters, as well. And when my dad went over to hug her, she gave him this horrible death glare and walked away without saying a word.
You see, my dad was married to another women before he met my mom, and he had two children with the women. My dad met my mom at the library he worked at when she moved from Mexico to America, and after a couple of years he decided to have a divorce so he could marry my mom and his ex wife and him ended on good terms anyway.
So back to that day, my family thought my sister was just upset after the trip to California, so we let her rest for a little while. A few hours later and we were getting ready to eat, and my mom made a delicious feast to celebrate my sibling's arrival. She sent me to wake up Sophia, so I did and it was not pretty when I finally woke her up. That's when I figured out something was wrong, and she was Diagnosed with depression and anxiety a few months later.
