Chapter 2

“Pssstt. Xiumin hyung”

“Xiumin hyung”

“Xiumin hyung!”

I snapped back into reality as I blinked my eyes plenty of times. I face Chen who is looking at me intently

“What?”

“Are you okay? I was calling you many times and you are still staring at the ceiling” he explained worriedly and he walks towards me

“Tell me, is—“

“It’s nothing Jongdae. Don’t mind me, I’m completely fine” I cut him off “I just get the mop on the storage room” I quietly made my way to the storage room which is there’s no other person than me

I leaned on the wall and took a deep breathe

All things he was said last week was still keeps repeating on my mind like a cassette tape. I don’t like this feelings, it’s just like there’s a heavy burden in my chest    

*FLASHBACK*

“It seems you’re sad? Aren’t you happy?” He said worriedly when he saw my reaction

“No” I denied “I’m happy of course. Congratulation!” I greeted him merrily insisting myself to be happy than to felt weary

He offered me a sweet smile then he rest his back in his chair

“You know, I can’t imagine myself waiting her in the end of the church aisle” he told me dreamingly. 

I just stared at him while he's telling me his feeling on his wedding day. But a question haunts my mind since he opened up about 'his wedding'

 I tooked a sigh “Owww… Can I ask you a question?” I doubtfully asked

“What it is?”

 “How did you proposed? I mean, it’s too early” I asked in disbelief, hoping that he wouldn’t notice the bitterness in my voice

“I’m not over-estimating your relationship but, I’m just really curious. You’re only in a romantic relationship with Nathalie for 5 months, then you are getting married this early? Don’t get me wrong Lu, it’s just, it took so quickly” very quick rather, that even my brain couldn't sunk the information down

He nodded to me as he understood all what I've been saying “I understand you Minseok. But, she wants us to get married immediately” 

 “I don’t get it” I commented confused, trying to absorb what he was saying

“She’s the one who propose to me last night in my office” he revealed 

“What?” I exclaim disbelievingly “She’s the one who proposed you?”

I stared at him, not believing the words coming out of his mouth. That's unbelievable

I imagined his girlfriend is proposing him. Just, wow.

“I know that you are shock, Minseok-ssi. But come to think, isn’t it unique?” he said amusingly  

“Huh? Are you insane Luhan?” I questioned him as if I’m talking to an alien. He think that it’s unique that a woman proposed to a man?

“Easy baozi. Of course, I’m not” he smirked mischievously

“Here we go again, we’re having a serious discussion and you’ll ended up teasing me” I roll my eyes heavenwards

“I’m doing nothing, Xiumin” he said innocently then he chuckled like I’m an entertaining clown in front of him

“Back to the topic Luhan, is she really the one who proposed you?” I asked again for comfirmation

“Yes Minseok, Why don’t you believe me?”

“It’s just unbelievable”

“Unbelievable things happened in this world, Minseok. Always remember that”

“Yeah” And I don’t want this unbelievable thing to happen. How I wish there's an unbelievable thing will happen to stop his wedding. I'm so bad, right?

“But seriously, I love her so much that I will marry her, be my wife and be the mother of my children. She’s my childhood friend and lot of things happened in my life but she's still here at my side and I realized that I can’t leave without her”

I saw in his face that he’s really happy in his relationship with Nathalie and no one could stop him loving her.

I looked away at him. I feel like there is no air left to breathe.

“Can I ask you a question again?” I manage to ask him again

“Hmm?”

“If ever someone will confess to you that she really loves you, are you giving her a chance to prove her that s-she really loves you? Although you’re getting married?"

The silence comes and stretches into awkwardness. I regret to ask him a question that full of stupidly, since he doesn’t seem willing to answer him. I chose to change the topic. Just as I about to tell him to forget it, he spoke:

“Of course no, we all know that I’m handsome and manly but I’m loyal to her”

I bit my lip and looks away, ignoring his boastfulness

*ENDS OF FLASHBACK*

“Xiumin hyung”

I turned my head on the right side and saw Jongdae who is worriedly looking at me. I stand quickly and I get the mop, ignoring his presence

As I passed through him, he put his hand to my shoulder and made me face him

“Hey, tell me what’s happened? Are you sick? Are you okay?” He gazed at me, reading my facial expression

I smiles faintly

“I’m worried” 

“I’m o-okay” my voice suddenly cracks and a tears fell down to my cheeks

Even though Jongdae doesn’t understand why I’m crying, he hugs me tightly and murmured some encouragement words. I thank God that I have a friend like Chen who comforts me in this kind of situation.

“Shhh... Everything will be okay” he said for the nth time

I loose myself from his hug and wiped some trace of tears in my face

“I’m not going to insist you to tell me what’s wrong with you. I noticed that you became weird this past few days, but please Xiumin hyung, don’t hide it from me” he said while looking at me

I nodded, still spacing out

“Com’on, lets get our things, Lay-ge will close the shop in few minutes”

He put his arm in my shoulder and we made our way to the counter

“Let’s pack up, I will close the shop. It’s already 6:30 PM” Yixing said while washing the surfaces of the table with a wet cloth

I tried to be fine again and insist myself to think about happy things. After a minute Lay closed the shop and we went home

Starting tomorrow, I will try to avoid him. I don’t want to saw him for a while. I know I look pathetic but I’m doing this for myself.

Loving him is toxic
