I'm Sorry I Forgot

"Z, please talk to me." You plead for the 4th time. It was Zatanna's birthday, but also the day after an incredibly long and stressful mission. "I'm sorry. It slipped my mind." You lay your head on the door, a sigh escaping you. "If you wanna talk, I'm in the kitchen." You speak softly before walking away from the shut door.

A few hours had gone by and Zatanna had finally given in and left the bed. She thought it was to cold without you. "Y/N..." she leaned against the counter and kept her eyes trained on the ground. "Yeah?" You look up from the sandwich you had made. "I forgive you. I know you didn't mean to forget." She rubbed her arm. "But I forgot...and that's not fair to you." You stand and walk over to her, pulling her into a tight hug. "I love you. You know that right?" She hugged back, her arms instinctively wrapping around your neck. "I know Y/N. I know." She mumbled. You place a warm kiss on her forehead. "Happy Birthday my Love. I swear I'll make it up to you." She smiled. "Cuddles, I'm to tired to do anything else." She chuckled. "Whatever you want." You pick up the raven haired beauty bridal style and carry her back to your shared bedroom.

Gently placing her down, you climb in after her and wrap your arms around the girl. "This is really all I wanted." She spoke softly before drifting off. "I'm glad I could give it to you." You smile and comb your hands through her hair. "Sleep well Z. I love you."
