Both badly handwritten 'résumé' was passed by both young kids. At certain coffee shop that is called Anteiku, young Ritari and young kou wishes to seek permanent job to sustain both of their needs. While a certain old man who is kind enough. find them in, at his coffee shop.

"You wish to apply?" The old man, asked holding a chuckle. Looking directly at the kids with a warm smile.

"Hai!" Young kou, answered eagerly with a bit sparkle tinting his eyes, while Ritari just make a small nod hiding behind the taller male's presence.

"Where are your parents?" Asked by the old man, brows slightly raising. Eager to know more about the two children. But in his surprise their face fell in a slight frown, as of the kids looked at the kind man's eyes with sadness in them. He pitted them.

"They wer -" Ritari didn't even get a chance to finish her sentence, as her brother kou went and roughly hit her in the arm, causing Ritari to slightly wince under Kouen's touch. The little one glared the older guy who just whispered something to her.

"I told you not to tell anyone that!" Kouen whispered yelled at the girl's little ears, earning a little angered Rita to begin with.

"What's the matter! I'll just tell him that mom was killed by a ghoul!" The little girl exclaimed at the older.

"I told you not to!"

"What's wrong with it? Its not like I'm lying! She is really killed by a ghoul!." The little girl whispered back at the boys ears, a little sadness tinting her tone.

"Is something wrong?" The old man asked, making both of the kids flinch at the sudden words of the man.

"Nothing!" They both of them said in unision, little did they know that the old man was listening in their little bicker. His eyes saddened at the thought of them having no parents to guide them. A little memory flashed before his head that pitted the two even more.

"Alright your hired" the old man announced, as both of the kids celebrated with joy. Jumping and laughing like what regular youngsters should do.

"REALLY! YEHAY!" both of them dance in abundance as the old man looked at them smiling to himself.

"This is a ghoul shop." Both of the kids in front of him suddenly blink twice, and looked at each other as if asking each other if he/she have heard it right. The old man laugh a little at the reaction of both of the kids. He looked at them directly before kindly repeating his statement.

"You heard me right, all of the people who works here are ghouls." The old man repeated, as he served both the kids a hot chocolate. That eagerly soothes to their taste.

"Ghouls?" Ritari asked the old man, with a slight beam in her eyes. Which reflected hope and happiness. (Which is one of the characteristics that the old man likes about her)

"Hmm" the old man only hummed in response, as he sat across the two children.

Ritari's eyes beam with delight as she faced her brother, she went in and lean in his ears - again - whispering something to him "We should tell him that we are also ghouls!" Ritari exclaimed, while keeping her voice low at his brothers ears earning a lightly annoyed Kou. He was about to tell the old man about their secret once again - not taking precautions, lucky his brother opposed her as soon as he heard about her thoughts.

"No we shouldn't." He whisper back to her, Rita narrowed her eyes and flashed him a look of confusion. "We don't know if he's telling the truth." Kouen whispered, taking a glance at the old man in front of them who just wore a little smile. "Maybe he just wanted to give us to the CCG for the money." Kouen finished his sentence with a convincing tone. Hid words kept Rita thinking for a brief second before she came into a conclusion. She actually agreed that her brother had actually made her point which conclude her to stay silent as she eyed the old man suspiciously, but nonetheless she's been a little precautious every once and then.

Little did they know, the old man heard their whole conversion. He tried to hide his smile at how cunning and cautious those kids can be, he was a good brother. He thought the thought itself is enough to make him hold a chuckle, but nonetheless he didn't commented on it, and let the kids plan to be executed. He was testing them.

A brief silence passed and the boy finally spoke."Are you going to eat us" the little boy hoax, with a hint of 'fear' in his voice. While Rita just hides behind his brothers back, trying to take cover. As she cannot afford to show the man that she was laughing internally, at the thought of her brother's petty acting was cringe enough for her to see. For she believed that 'It doesn't suit him'. The thought itself is enough to make the little girl burst out in laughter, so she went in and buried her head into her brother's back holding her laughter.

"Yes" the old man's voice was firm and scary, he yelled while unleashing his kakugan. Kouen take up with his reflexes, and also unleashed his kakugan together with his rinkaku. He also took cover for Ritari, who just stayed behind him. Although she stayed behind him, she still take precautions and unleashed her kakugan for an impression that she is also a ghoul.

Both of the ghouls have stared at each other for a moment, but the old man's stare was slowly turning in delight.

His face slowly softens, as his kakugan slowly retracted which made his original human eye to be seen. His eyes widen at the sight of the two kids in front of him and soon, his mouth slightly fell in a gape. "Your both a one eyed ghoul?" He asked the two ghouls in front of him, Kouen's once golden right eye was replaced with a ghoul's kakugan and as for Rita her once golden left eye was also replaced with a kakugan.

"He's really a ghoul." Rita said, stating the obvious at her brother. A few seconds later, Kou have finally been calm, although he already retracted his kagune he also started to retract his kakugan, and Rita did the same.

"Its fine, I won't take you to the CCG." The old man reassured. He's voice calm, while his eye's still showed interest in the two one eyed ghouls in font of him.

"You heard our conversation?" Kouen asked, now completely calm. His kakugan is now gone and his bright golden orbs is back.

"Of course I'm a ghoul young man. I'm just testing you." The old man replied with a small smile plastered on his face while eyeing the kid.

"Is it true?" Ritari questioned, her gaze now fixed on the man before him. "what you've said?" Ritari once again asked the man, her eyes full of curiosity and same as her brother her golden orbs shone in the dim of the room. Pretty. The old man thought as she eyed the young ghoul before him.

As the old man heard the young ghouls question, he just looked at her questionably, before signalising her to continue what she was saying. "That all of the person that works here are ghouls?" She asked once again. With the same curiosity in her eyes, the ones she always held.

"I'll tell you" the old man said monotonously. Rita's eyes beam with delight as her eyes shine even more at the thought of having to meet many ghouls to be friends with, at the shop they were to work for.

"But. ." the old man leaned in the table. His voice taunting with eagerness, eager to know more about the Two one - eyed ghouls.

"But?" Rita repeated her words with excitement tinting it, having the same hope to beam against her golden orbs that always seem so hopeful.

"But your telling me your story."
