Dedicated to Joyanne the Horse-riding Shadowhunter who just so happens to be Legolas' wife as well. :D

A/N: 你们好!Haha okay that was just hi in Chinese :D You know, for a change. So yeah this is the fourth part of the essay named "Secret" that I was only supposed to take 1 hour to do but overshot. The essay wasn't supposed to be a descriptive essay either, but I guess I heard wrong. :/ Anyway, bubbling potions and bubblegum from the cauldron!

She gaped at the mirror. For the mirror showed her a scene that she so badly wanted. It was her, in the most beautiful dress she had ever seen. It was creamy ivory in colour and had patterns in lace over the bodice. Tiny pearls were arranged in layers on the skirt. She had a glowing white flower in her hair. Her hair was twisted, braided- What was that beautiful arrangement? She looked around, and gasped. She was in a hall, a… a ballroom, from what the stories described. There were diamond chandeliers and stained glass windows, and an orchestra, and people dancing, and… and… people. There were people, laughing, eating, dancing… so real. She reached out a hand and touched out… But her fingers only hit the mirror, the gateway between her and that ballroom. Madly, crazily, she scrabbled at the glass, but nothing happened. It was just a mirror. So she continued to stare at it, transfixed. How she wished she could be a part of their world! To dance, to have fun, not stay cooped up in a castle for some unknown reason. Some unknown reason… She snapped out of her trance. The mirror! What was that? How…? Why didn’t she see herself but some weird scene of a… a ball. A ball? She looked up, away from the mirror, anywhere but the mirror. She didn’t want to get caught in that trance. But yet, this part of her was yearning just to look at it, just one more time, just a while, to be part of that perfect world… Caught in a conflict, her eyes travelled around… And landed on the inscription on the top of the mirror. Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohs. [1] Her mind was scrambling around; trying to figure out what language it was, what it said, what it meant… But she drew a blank. She felt oddly frustrated. Finally, here was another… problem… answer… She didn’t know. She sat down and buried her face in her hands. She was at a loss. But the answers were not going to be answered any time soon.

“WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING?!” The voice boomed and she jumped from fright. It was him. She panicked. What was she to do? She wasn’t planning on this. She didn’t plan that he would find out. Her secret garden. Her secret mirror. She was speechless. “I TOLD YOU TO STAY IN THE CASTLE. WHY DIDN’T YOU LISTEN?” Because it was so boring and I don’t even know why I’m supposed to be there? “Mirror,” She said, then mentally smacked herself. Why did I say that? What have I done? “HMM. THE MIRROR. I SEE.” He rounded upon her. “DID YOU LOOK IN IT?” What was she to say? She didn’t dare lie. “Yes.” She looked down, wondering what he might do. Throw her in the dungeon? Already she knew that rumour was false. Fire her? He couldn’t fire her, she wasn’t a maid. Just an occupant of the castle. Even if he did banish her from the castle, it wasn’t necessarily such a bad thing. She didn’t want to stay. Escape. Yes. Escape from this place. Yes. Escape now. She looked up into his sharp features. Perhaps she couldn’t make a move now. To her horror, he produced a metal rod from behind his back. Her eyes widened and she cowered, shielding her head from the blow of the rod. “Crash!” Wait, what? She uncovered her eyes, only to see him striking the mirror repeatedly. Her perfect fantasy! “No!” She couldn’t bear that thought. She needed it, needed something to be real, needed that fairy-tale to be real. She leaned in front of the mirror, shielding it from him. But the speeds were too fast and he lost control of the rod at the last minute, his grip sweaty. The rod smashed into her at full force. She felt its sharpness knock into her head. She lost her balance and fell. Falling… My secrets… His secrets… She fell, and she did not know when she would touchdown.

OKAI so yeah that was the end of the essay. I realised that I could actually make a prologue of the mirror being in his posession, but I'm not sure whether or not to. Oh well. Anyway, I hope you liked it! I have no idea when I will post next, given that these are essays from my LA lessons and basically my homework, so I am both excited about essay homework (because more posts!) and ._. (because it's still homework you know) so yesh. Have a beautiful day and I hope a Time Lord picks you up in his TARDIS~ Remember to come visit me with the TARDIS though, haha :D
