Walking into the kitchen I see Mom sitting at the kitchen table with the rest of the family. She looks up as I enter the room. She pulls the seat out next to her and says. "I want you to sit next to me, Kadence."

I sit in the seat next to Mom. "Are we going shopping today for the decorations?"

She shakes her head. "I'm going to send a few of our Maids to do it. I don't feel like hanging around the less fortunate people."

She's become a snob. I'm not going to let my mother get away with this behavior anymore. She's going to go shopping with me weather she likes it or not.

"No, Mom. The Maids aren't going shopping. You and I are going to pick everything up like we used. I'm back home now and I'm going to bring my mother back with me. I don't like the woman you've become since I left. It's time for you to get a make-over and be the mother that my siblings and I have loved since we were born."

A smile spreads across her face. "The only way I can be myself 100% is if you can get rid of Jenna. She's a force to be reckoned with. Your father swore to me that he never had sex with the Maid, but Jenna looks exactly like you father."

She looks a bit like my father, but there is someone else that could be her biological father and that's my Uncle.

He's my father's twin brother. They look identical, but only close family would be able to tell them apart.

Dad puts his newspaper down and looks at my mother. "It would be good for you to get out of the house. You should volunteer at the soup kitchen like you used to."

Mom looks at Jenna who has a smile on her face. "You want me out of the house so you can get close to her don't you? There's a reason why I stopped doing everything I loved. It was so I wouldn't have to see you form a bond with that bastard."

"MOM," Milan yells. "There are children at the table. They don't need to hear their Nan swear." She looks at her kids. "I think it's time you all go to your room. I'll send some food up for you in minute."

"Okay, Mom." Mike the eldest of Milan's kids says. He leads his siblings and cousins up to their rooms. The kids walk out of the room and head towards the grand staircase.

Jenna has a smile on her face as she looks at Mom. "Your kids are going to turn against you, Cindy. Being jealous of me isn't an attractive look for an old Grinch like yourself."

Dad slams his hands on the table. "Enough, Jenna. I don't want to hear you antagonize another member of my family while you eat at this table."

She snorts. "This family has been breaking since they found out that I was there half-sister. I's surprised that Cindy is still at your side knowing that you have an act for straying. I wonder how many more kids you have out there."

I haven't even had my morning coffee before all this drama broke out. I really should get Mom out of this house before she kills Jenna.

"Mom," she turns her attention to me and waits for me to finish my sentence. "Get ready. We're going shopping. It will do us both to get out of the house." Lowering my voice I say. "Before either of us do something we won't regret when it comes to Jenna."

Mom laughs. "Your right." She pushes the chair away from the kitchen table and stands up. She walks out of the dining room.

Emma smiles at me. "You're the only one that has power over our mother. I'm glad your back to help her out."

"Me, too. I'm sorry I wasn't here for the last three years. How long has Mom been like this?"

Milan stands up and she moves towards Mom's seat. She sits next to me. "After you left Jenna decided to make the announcement public that she was Dad's child. She wanted the attention of you leaving taken away and since then she's made sure that everyone listens to her and forgets your name."
