Those words melted me, and here I was thinking I was going to start afresh tomorrow.
"I love you zee"
I closed my eyes and buried my face in his chest
"I've never loved anyone the way I love you and it scares me"
My voice was a whisper.

He dragged me to sit on his lap while he sat on the bare grass. He began to brushy my hair with his hands.
"You always love it when I loosened my hair"

He laughed and I felt the vibration in his chest.
"I also loved it when we showered together"

I bit back the blush that crept up my neck.
"And I know you're also biting your lips right now"
He added and I couldn't help but giggle like a school girl.

I sat straighter looking up at him.
"I know it's cold but I want to lie on your bare chest"
I held eye contact with him as I undid the buttons of his shirt.

"Damn!! For you I'll freeze to death"
I felt hot all over. How I managed to feel hot in this cold weather was what I'll never know.

I placed my hands on his chest and leaned into him allowing our lips to almost feel each other.
"What about her mother?"

He knew I was talking about his daughter's mum.
"She's married, and I feel nothing for her. It's you I want zee, it's you I need every passing day. I don't want what we have to ever come to an end. I want to spend the rest of my life with you"

The meaning behind his words hit me.
"David, you're sounding like you're proposing to me"
I said laughing awkwardly.

"I am, it's just that I didn't come with a ring. Like I wasn't planning this. I just saw you, and thought a while and I knew what I wanted immediately. But don't count this as a proposal, maybe a pre proposal if you'd like. The main one would be bigger, like magical…"

He was nervous, his hands scratched the back of his head. I closed the distance between us, letting our lips met again. With him I always felt complete, nothing mattered when he was around me. I was in love with this man, I didn't even know when I fell so deeply. It scared me but I knew that for us I was willing to keep taking steps. I was willing to stay.

The loud bangers filled our ears making us startled a little bit. Screams could be heard from different directions.
David glanced at his wrist watch for a second.
"Happy new year babe"

"Happy new year to you too Dee"
He winced, he always hated that name.

"I thought you were going to drop that name before entering the new year"
He was sounding like a whining baby.

"Nope. You love me so learn to love the name"
Mine, he was mine.

"I'm all yours babe, call me whatever you like" it was almost as though he read my mind. I jumped on him as I wrapped my hands around his neck in a tight embrace.

"I'm never leaving you again, never"
I promised as the sparkling stars in the sky and the cold night breeze became my witnesses. I would stay for him.
