I walked silently through the narrow lane leading to my departmental building inside the university's campus. I occasionally glanced around at the various students engaged in different activities.

With my hands tucked inside my jacket's pockets and my earphones in place even though no music was playing through them. It helped to discourage conversation from boys who hang around looking for girls whose pants they could get into.

It so happened I wasn't interested.

Still strolling down the familiar path, I spotted two cars parked beside the building - a Range Rover and Benz Compressor. Walking closer, I wasn't surprised to see a group of girls smiling flirtatiously at four guys.

I could recognise few of the girls as my course mates and the others I couldn't care less about.

As I walked past, my gaze accidentally met that of one of the boys and he winked at me with a smirk.

I rolled my eyes and walked away.

You'd think with those girls around him begging for his attention he'd at least be satisfied.

I shook my head.

Boys!

Just as I entered my class,I realized that the four boys looked really familiar.

It took me a moment to realize who they were.

Those were four of - if not - the most popular boys on campus.

Unlike some other groups, they didn't have a name they called themselves and didn't seem to care. Nonetheless, the girls at school called them the 'Hot 4'.

I wasn't one to lie so I could admit that...

They were hot!

Gorgeous as hell!

The only problems was... I wasn't interested.

I took my seat beside my only friend in my department, Tamara, a very pretty yet outspoken girl.

"Hey Lara",she greeted as I sat.

" Hey Tammy", I replied. "What's up?"

She simply shrugged before leaning closer.

"Did you see them outside?" She asked.

Already knowing who she was talking about, I nodded.
She shook her head but said nothing concerning the subject.

"Class has been cancelled", she informed me.

I frowned. " Why?"

She shrugged. "It was announced earlier".

" Then why are we still here?" I asked, getting to my feet and swinging my bag over my shoulder.

Tamara did the same as well and we both made our way out of the class, greeting some of our course mates as we did so.

When we stepped out of the building, the two cars were still parked there alongside the four boys but their fans/admirers.
were nowhere to be seen. I exchanged looks with Tamara before we moved to walk past them.

"Hey!" One of them called coming up to us. "Excuse me", he said.

At that point, I wished I'd been walking alone with my earphones plugged in my ears. It would have been easy to ignore him despite having heard him.

Tamara stopped making me do the same.

He turned to me. "Can I talk to you?"

Tamara turned to me, seeking permission and I shook my head - silently telling her not to leave me.
