The Monster Within

     He looked at the clock, uhh, it's only six-twenty, he thought. Good thing I set my alarm clock for seven-thirty., he laid there and smirked to himself. He couldn't go back to sleep, so he got up and looked around but nothing had changed. It all looked the same as before it was just the same condo that he was used to. It was a decent size, he had a red leather couch. He liked his cat clock. The curtains, however, were dusty. After he got dressed, he was drinking his coffee, when he heard banging on the oak door. He opened it to find a woman looking angrily at her watch. She was wearing all black with sunglasses on her head. She had a silver chain around her neck. The bottom was hidden, so no one could see what was attached.

     "Are you William Tyler?!" she barked with hatred in her eyes. "Yes ma'am?" Will replied. "Good! Miami SWAT, you're under arrest for the mass genocide at the Miami airport." She went on while clicking the handcuffs, to say "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you. Do you understand the rights I have just read to you? With these rights in mind, do you wish to speak to me?" There is no way to describe the Hatred she felt for him. It felt like his body was on fire. "Now move!" she demanded as she clicked the handcuffs tighter.

     She went on to throw him against the wall outside and patted him down. "Do you have anything that will prick me, poke me, or stab me?" "Hold on!" he blurted. "I couldn't have done it, I was asleep!" She whipped him around and her sunglasses were over her eyes, "You're lying! My brother died there. He just got here to see us..." she paused. "Then I got a call that there was an attack at the airport." Will couldn't see her eyes, but he knew she was in tears. Will was silent. Shivers went down his spine. "Why and how did you rip through everyone?" She put her sunglasses back on her head and glared into his eyes with a fire in her soul. "You're a monster. How could you?!" He went silent.

     She took him to the black van parked on his grass that he just cut the day before. She threw him in the back like a piece of trash. The man in the front said "How's it going killer? Who'd you kill to live in a place like this?" Tara then hopped in the back with him and proceeded to chain his feet. The interior was made of a sleek metal. "It's freezing back here." he shivered. "It's only seventy-five degrees." said the driver. "Shut up, Bill!" she barked. "Sorry! Gosh, you don't need to tear into me... like... that." He went silent, realizing what he just said. She shut the door and faced it and said holding back her tears. "Shut up and drive." Will slowly started to fall asleep from the vibrations of the truck.

     Suddenly he woke up to a bang, the truck was rolling with him flopping around the back. Tara was gone, along with the doors to the back of the truck. He saw claw marks and tears on the fabric leading to the driver's seat with blood marks in the crevices. Will then started freaking out. When the truck stopped he got up slowly holding his head. He heard a ringing and smelt gas. "I have to get out of here." He thought to himself. He climbed out and leaned against a tree adjacent from the truck. He heard a loud bang that caused him to look up and the van had exploded into a ball of flames. After watching the fire for a bit, he looked at his wrists covered in cuts but he doesn't remember being scratched. He passed out again.

     He woke up in a cell but it didn't look like a regular cell. He was strapped to a table that was standing up right, and he had tubes hooked up to him that lead to machines that filled a corner of the room. A man walked up to him, out of the corner to the other side of him. He had a uniform on and had a large grin on his face. "My, my, what have we here?" he said. Will went into a panic. "What am I doing here? Who are you?" Will said shakily. The man said "Why I'm General Kaufman, at your service, and this is your new home." He laughed as he left the room, and when Kaufman did Will saw him close a heavy-looking steel door behind him. Will heard a loud clunk which he thought was the lock on the door. He spent some time in silence thinking of that day, how he got there and what happened in the van. He then looked at his hands or what he thought was his hands. In their place were pale claws. He started to scream but he felt dizzy and passed out.
