Cole won't stop staring. At me, Hana, and Xavier. I don't think he's even noticed Daniel.

His eyes fall to my hand, at the engagement ring and moves his lips to the side in thought. Hana noticed too. "Is that a promise ring or....."

"Engagement ring." I answer back, Daniel scowls. It goes unnoticed by everyone else, their eyes on Cole.

Cole's eyes fall onto Xavier, who is already starting at him with an impassive face. "Are you the lucky man?"

Xavier gives him a curt nod, eyes stone as if to tell no funny business. A warning. I'm surprised he doesn't growl.

Cole gives a slow half nod and looks to me. "Congratulations."

"Thank you."

He nods again and I turn away. Xavier glances to me, as if to ask me something. I simply stare back and give him a small smile. "Do you plan on growing a beard?" I ask him. His stubble has become more distinguished and he frowns a bit before scratching at his jaw.

"Simply haven't shaved in the last day."

I lick my lips, feeling the effects from the cold air on them all ready. "You should." I tell him, skimming his jaw with my finger. "Though I don't think I'd be able to keep myself off of you." I whisper into his ear. Hana audibly groans and squints at the two of us.

"We do not have time for you two to keep up with the sex games. We need to get to that place that way I can get home and away from here." She says and I flinch, leaning away from Xavier. I sometimes forget some people had no idea this side of the world existed. Hana has kept a rated E life most of it.

"I was simply telling him something. I didn't want everyone hearing." I tell her, an ache going through my chest at the lie. Not really a lie.... but not the full truth either.

She frowns but nods her head. She looks to the sky, eyes collapsing with a fear. Her skin becomes tight as she looks back to us. "It's going to rain soon. We need to find somewhere to stay. I'm starving."

I nod, grabbing our bags and beginning to walk again. There has been old out houses and small shacks randomly set about where we are. I look up to the sky, she's not lying. It's going to rain soon, the air already warning my covered skin.

We've walked about two miles, just a little bit more, and have around six more to go. "Xavier." I call, his figure coming beside me, his long legs calling my attention as they easily keep up with me. "What's the plan? I know you have one."

"We'll find a building or something to stay in. Make a small fire or something to keep warm- I doubt any place around here has working electricity and I wouldn't chance it if they did. Fire hazards no doubt. We'll all eat and I'll see if we have signal. I need to check in with Hawk and call your father. He may here by now and we need to know where to meet him at."

"My dad has connections. Do you think you could trust them?"

Dad had people willing to do anything for him all over, even the kind of help we need right now. I must say most of them are mostly women who want to get into his pants but that doesn't mean they aren't useful or couldn't help. That 100 of dangerous leaders and citizens though..... I'm sure Xavier will need them.

"I'm sure we can. This group may have been growing rapidly but not many people will join a new group. New is only attractive to regular day people. We, in my world, know that new usually gives out." Xavier glances around. "They are holding out. As if I don't know of this strategy. Make themselves look innocent and defenseless and when they've got my attention, attack. Go in for the kill. Much like the Belladonna plant." He glances to Hana. "I must thank Hana for that realization though. If she hadn't told us her girl's name then I wouldn't have thought of that. I , at one point, had thought that they were a small collection. Putting all their men on the battle line. Usually new groups do that." He shakes his head. "Whoever is controlling these people knows the game."
