"I don't even think you realized how depressing this is. You received detention just before the break. Christmas Break!", scolded Damini.

"I generally do regret the times when I lose my temper, but this isn't one of them.", replied back Ritesh.

"I feel like everything that I wanted to be sorted just became a hundred times worse. Not that I blame you but events just gradually led to it."

"I am sorry, it's just that I didn't feel like you needed to apologie as much as you did."

"I guess, but my friendship with Sage can't just, and shouldn't just vanish because of one incident. I was her friend since middle school and even though I may not be so close,  I have to stay friends. Plus, it's not just our long friendship but it is also something that I as a friend wanted to do for her but haven't fulfilled my wish yet. In fact, I may have made it worse. Sorry about this ranting by the way.", apologized Damini, hoping Ritesh wouldn't ask for what she had wished for.

The two walked to the house in silence after they talked about their sob stories. As reached her house, she bid him goodbye and retreated. When she turned back to see him, Damini could sense something awkward within Ritesh when he was walking down his house. Before every break, the two often do something fun and Ritesh would generally be the one to suggest and lift her mood, but there was something in the way he walked that depicted sorrow. She really wondered what it would be. Would it be the detention or some other problem? He didn't seem so bothered about receiving detention when he did. She ran after him, panting.

"Hey! Are you okay?", inquired Damini.

"It's my dad, Mini. I fought with him today morning and I wasn't very nice about."

"Ugh! Parent issues. I can relate."

He then told her the entire story as they walked to his house. Damini decided it was her time to charge of his role. She tried to lift his spirits. After the conversation about his dad, Damini tortured him with her ridiculous puns.

"What do you call a classy fish?"

"Oh, god! Let's see. Mmmmm.....I don't know", surrendered Ritesh.

"Sofishticated."

"God, you have such a bad sense of humor, I can't"
