Chapter 2: The Question

The bell rung siginaling the students to head to their next class. Apparently both of their classes were near by so they decided to walk together. While walking, Gumabll suddenly got an idea.

"So...Do you want to hang out at lunch today?" Gumball stated. "I could introduce you to my brother and my girlfriend."

Girlfriend. That word made HDG cringed and he felt a little disappointed. "S-Sure..."

"Alright well see you later," Gumball said with a grin and then walked inside his classroom. HDG stood there staring back at him and smiling. Then he continued along to his class.

The lunch bell rang and the kids rushed out of class to go to lunch. Or they could hang out in the library or outside on the school court. Once HDG went inside the cafeteria and grabbed his lunch tray, he could see a blue haired boy waving at him. He walked over to the lunch table and sat down with a small smile.

"Hey dude," Gumball said. "So this is my brother Darwin and my girlfriend Penny."

"Hey." Said Darwin, with a friendly grin on his face. "Nice to meet you."

"Uh...Hey," mumbled Penny.

"He's coming over to work on the project after school."

Gumball continued to chat with HDG and Darwin. He noticed Penny feeling a little down so he put his baby carrots up his nose to make her laugh. Penny looked up and giggled at what her boyfriend was doing. Then they both started laughing til their sides hurt. "Oh...Gumball," she said between her chuckles.

"Well see you after school for our date," Penny said.

She got up to kiss Gumball on the lips and then went to go hang with her cheerleading friends. Anias passes her as she comes up to the table.

"Sooo....." She smirked. "Who's this?"

"This is HDG," Gumball said glaring at his four year old sister. "We're working on a project in Ms. Simion's class."

"Well good luck with my brother," she mumbled to HDG. "He's quite a freaking nut job."

"Shut the fuck up Anias," yelled Gumball his face red with slight answer.

Both Darwin and Anias laughed while HDG sat there looking confused. The bell rang so the four went to get on their ways to their classes. "So see you later?" Said HDG.

"Alright bye!," Gumball said as he parted ways with Darwin to their next class.

"Damn..." HDG said to himself as he kind of blushed. "He's not that bad..."

"Who's not that bad?"

The school day was over. Their dad was waiting for them in the school parking lot to pick them up from school. HDG was coming with them while Darwin was going over to Tobias's house. Gumball noticed HDG in the crowd of students searching for him.

"Hey HDG! I'm over here dude!"

HDG looked over who called his name and saw it was Gumball. He smiled and walked over to him and the car. He waved at him and got inside the car. After a few minutes of awkward silence, Anias broke it.

"So...HDG....Do you think Gumball's cute?"

Both HDG and Gumball choked at the same time. HDG felt his cheeks heat up as he yelled his response out.

"W-WHAT! PSSHHS...NO!"

Anias laughed out loud. "I'm just joking with you." She nudged Gumball and whispered something in his ear.

"He's a keeper."

Gumball looked at her with a confused and angry look. "Anias shut the fuck up..."

"Language Mister," Their dad yelled from the front while Anias chuckled some more. Anias knew that these two boys were going to get together by the end of book. The car pulled up at the house and all the kids went inside. Gumball guided HDG upstairs to his room and they both sat at the computer.

"So...the project is about telling the history of Elmore," said HDG. "We could write an essay, a play, write a song, you know."

"Hmm...," Gumball thought. "How about a song? I can play the ukelele and maybe you can sing."

"Uh...I'm not sure," HDG said feeling nervous about the idea of him singing. HDG was an actually a really good singer but he can ball up in front of a crowd. He felt Gumball's hand touch his shoulder and he looked up at him.

"Hey man, your going to do great."

"Really?"

"Yes," he said giving him his cheeky grin. "I'll be there with you."

They both were wondering where was that feeling of awkwardness. Instead there was another feeling. That feeling they both felt this morning on the bus. HDG then stared into Gumball's hot pink eyes. Heat rushed into their cheek as both of their faces got a little closer. "Shit..." Gumball mumbled under his breath.

"U-Uh....we should get back to the project," said HDG as he pulled away.

"Yea..."

After a few hours of working on the plan and playing around it was now 6:30 and time for HDG to leave. But Gumball didn't want him to leave but he didnt know why. They exchanged phone numbers and Gumball walked him out. He sighed and went to have dinner with his family.

hiiiii! i decided to try and continue this story the best I can because a lot of people enjoy it im still into the amazing word of gumball fandom but i'm in high school and going to be a bit busy.
sorry this chapter is short i just wanted to get this out for you guys!
i won't have an update scheduled but i'll try to update each week.
