Chapter 1: The Awkwardness

Gumball woke up to the sound of someone yelling his name. That someone was his adopted brother and best friend forever, Darwin. Gumball groans and rolls over to his side, really wanting to get back to sleep. "Gumball! If you don't wake your a** up we're going to miss the bus again! yelled Darwin. "Fineeeee....," sighed the blue haired boy. He rolled off the bed only being stupid and falling on top of his face. Instead of picking himself up, he slowly drags himself to the bathroom to start his day. As he brushes his teeth he stares back at himself inside the mirror with his messy blue hair and slight bags under his pink eyes from staying up too late. After brushing his teeth and showering he gets dressed in his usual sweater and jeans, but this time with red sneakers and then heads down stairs.

He grabs some toast from the kitchen and then goes to the living room to watch some tv. Darwin plops down next to him with Anias, their baby sister, behind them.

"Woah Gumball...you look horrible," said Anias.

"I know."

"That's because he stayed up all night video chatting with Penny," said Darwin smirking. "When are ya'll going to take things to the next level?"

Penny and him has been dating for about a year now and he's been really thinking about it for a while now. They both sometimes skip class to maybe make out for a while or just to sit down and talk. But sometimes... it gets boring and maybe he wants to spice things up a bit.

"Guys the bus is here," says Anias as she grabs Gumball's hand and drags him outside the door and onto the bus. Anias then disappears and Darwin goes to sit with his girlfriend Carrie, who is one of Gumball's good ghost friends who is sometimes a little bit scary. Gumball goes to the back and slips on a hoodie and puts on his ear buds to blur out the sounds of the other kids yelling. After a while the bus comes to the next stop, Banana Joe. Then the next one, Tobias, Then the next one.

Oh no, not this guy again.

Hot dog guy, or HDG for short, climbs onto the bus and since there was no more sits besides Gumball's, he goes up Gumball. "U-Uh...Hey blue cat...Do you mind if I sit with you?"

"No not at all young lad" Gumball says as they both cringe. They both did that weird smile and HDG sits down next to him sighing. "So...How's it going dude?"

"Fine...How about you?"

"I'm fine as well..."

"Ok..."

Then a rush of silence came between them. That awkward strong thick slice of silence. Gumball then got a dm from Penny on Elmore Plus.

Penny: Hey Gumball wanna skip 3rd period and hang out?

Gumball smiled. Knowing that today wasn't going to be shitty because he was going to be with the love of his life. He texted back.

Gumball: sure, i'll tell darwin so he'll give me notes to copy for ms. simions class. you know i'm almost failing that class and she'll get on my ass like she always does.

Penny: lol, that is true tho. meet me in front of the west bathroom on the second floor.

Gumball: alright, love u

Penny: i love u too xoxox

Then Rocky started speeding because he is a reckless school bus driver. How did he get this job anyway? But he ran over a speed bump and the next thing you know Gumball is sitting in HDG's lap. Gumball's face turn completely red as he looked back at HDG's face. It was as red as HDG's sweater. Oh my fu*king god, Gumball thought. What do I do?!?!  While Gumball was freaking out he felt something poking underneath his leg.
