the boy who blamed himself

June 26, 2018:
Otherwise known as the worst day in the young boy's history.

Here lies,
the girl who always shined a light on dark days.
Here lies,
the girl who's smile spread to everyone around her.
Here lies,
the girl who everyone loved.

Here lies,
the girl who hated herself.
Here lies,
the girl who thought she was alone.
Here lies,
the girl who believed that she could finally be happy.

The young boy,
texted her everyday after they had met.
The young boy,
believed they were best friends.
The young boy,
did everything to be with her.

The young boy,
wanted her to be happy.
The young boy,
did his best to protect her.
The young boy,
hated to see her upset.

The young boy,
loved her.

A changed boy,
leaves the funeral early.
A changed boy,
goes back to his house.
A changed boy,
pulls out an old box from under his bed.

A changed boy,
pulled out many pictures from the box.
A changed boy,
looked through them one by one.
A changed boy,
let a tear fall.

An upset boy,
blames himself.
An upset boy,
gets mad at himself.
An upset boy,
runs to his car to drive.

An unstable boy,
drives his car on a small road in the middle of the night.
An unstable boy,
can barely focus with the tears falling furiously down his face.
An unstable boy,
didn't see the swerving car.

A fragile boy,
lies barely conscience in what he thinks is his car.
A fragile boy,
sees the blurred people try to help.
A fragile boy,
sees the other family dead.

A dying boy,
smiles for the last time.

The girl and boy reunite.
