Somehow I was totally hitting it off with Lysander, having just figured out we had a common birthday. Anna and Lorcan seemed awkward. I loved it. I might have scooted a little too far over on the bench to lean into their conversation that I almost threw Lysander off, but stabilized him in a quick, sisterly way.
But, back to Anna and Lorcan. Before I knew it, I was shipping them. “Oh damn,” I thought. “Butttt… I can’t stop myself, it’s too cute!” Just as I thought that, I heard Lorcan's nervous voice stutter. “H-h-hey Anna, you’re uh, you're…” then it all just kind of came out. “YOU’RE REALLY PRETTY!”
Anna turned beet red. “I-I'm pretty? You really think so?” she threw her oversized sleeves over her face to cover the blush and pouring sweat.
“Yea, Anna. You’re really, really pretty" he flashed a dumb smile.
“Hey, you’re really cute when you blush!” he spat out, more confident. Anna kept smiling and blushing, she even let out a small “aww". My heart melted. I looked at Lysander, who turned his head to Lily across the row. We all had dumb smiles on our faces but not in that way. Lysander started laughing uncontrollably. Me and Lily eventually started in, too. Lorcan burst up, his face bright red.
“HEY! Don’t say that about my-" sounded like he wanted to say “my girl” also, say? He burst right back up “DON’T… HAVE THAT REACTION TO ME AND HER" I stopped laughing. He was serious and I shipped these two dorks.
I signaled for Lysander and Lily to chill out too. We’d just made Lorcan MORE confident. He slid his hand across the velvet bench until he met up with Anna's. Before I knew it, they were discreetly holding hands. In addition to this… landmark, Anna also decided to lean her head against Lorcan's shoulder. Next thing I knew, she was out cold, dead asleep right on his shoulder. After a while, Lorcan leaned his head up against Anna's and they were both asleep together. I looked down and yep, still holding hands. I might as well had been dead at that point because it was getting way too cute. I then heard a small knock on the door. Blocking Lorcanna, I opened the doors to find the trolley witch
“Oh, uh, I just want 2 pumpkin- no wait, 1 pumpkin pasty, please.” I stuttered, fumbling money out of my pocket. I sat down with a large grin on my face.
Whispering, I muttered: “This is for the two lovebirds when they wake up" I got vigorous nodding and 2 thumbs up from the peanut gallery.
