Chaandaniyaa - Part 8

Part 8:

Abhi approaches a beautiful house; he looks at the house and wonders whether to go in or not, how will Pragya react when she sees him, Will she forgive him? He is still staring at the gate when a cute girl (Kiara) comes in to sight. She is running around and then comes Pragya and she is trying to feed her, while Kiara is dogging her. Pragya finally catches the naughty little girl and Kiara screams "Mumma I don't want to eat egg please, I want Cheese toast"

Abhi stands there rooted at his spot. His worst fears coming true.

Abhi wakes up with a start, he looks around and finds himself in the hotel room balcony. His thoughts go back to the girl he met at the ice cream shop and how she reminded him of pragya's smile. He still wondered why he dreamt of Pragya with a child calling her mumma. Abhi was kind of paranoid. A restless feeling setting in. He paced up and down unsure of how he was finally going to face Pragya.

Abhi gathers himself and goes to get ready. He has to go meet her today and he wanted to be at his best behavior.

Pragya on the other hand is running around Kiara, getting her ready as she needs to be taken to the playground nearby, while she goes to attend Pia's graduation day. Pragya quickly fed Kiara and packed her off with the babysitter. Taking a breather she sat down for and bit and then went on to get dressed.

Abhi in the meanwhile picked his coffee and headed to the address Jenny had shared with him. As he entered the block his heart started beating like a drum. He slowly came to a halt outside a beautiful home. he took a deep breath and stepped out heading towards the gate. As he nears he hears Pragya. He peeps and his heart stops beating. He is mesmerized to see her after 7 long years. She is dressed in a long white sleeveless dress and a short black shrug.

Pragya on the phone: Pia just relax I am coming. I am sitting in the car, I will be there.

Pia (on the other side): Pragya di you have 30mins to get here. Just come quick.

Pragya: Pia just relax, I am coming, I am going to hang up now.

Pragya gets into the car and leaves while abhi is just rooted in his place unable to move. Pragya catches a glimpse of abhi from her rearview mirror. She stops the car to look back but a dejected abhi has already moved away. Before she can go looking for him her phone rings again and its pia. Pragya put everything aside and just drives off as she is getting really late.

Abhi cannot believe his eyes. He saw his soul mate after seven long years. he was so lost at the sight that before he could go meet her he was gone. Tears freely flowing from his eyes and a small smile escapes his lips. He wipes his eyes and decides to get himself a coffee while waiting for Pragya to comeback. He did not want to miss meeting her

Abhi walks into a cafe close gets himself a cappuccino and walks across to the playground. He makes a few work calls and replies to some important emails. A ball comes and hits his foot. He looks up and a kid stands in front of him with her hands on her hips.

Kiara: Hey you are mega me. Are you following me

Abhi: Hey mini me, no I am not. I was here waiting for someone

Kiara: (heaving a sigh of relief) Oh then it's okay

Abhi: (smiling at her antics) you are a complete drama company

Kiara: (laughing loudly) Haha thank you mega me... who are you waiting for

Abhi: I am waiting to see a friend; she has gone out so I was killing time by answering my emails

Kiara: So why don't you come to play with me. I am bored of playing with my babysitter

Abhi: No, I need to finish this pending work

Kiara: (now angry, Stomping her feet) well your loss, bye

Abhi pulls her hand before she walks away. Hey what's your name

Kiara: My name is Kiara Mehra

Abhi is shocked, Kiara Mehra, What is your mother's name. Before Kiara can tell him her babysitter calls her. Hey, I need to go, my babysitter will create a fuss otherwise.

Abhi sees Kiara go away. Abhi has a whole load of questions running in his head. Was Pragya pregnant when she left, is Kiara our daughter? Shit, I will go mad. Before abhi can react and go looking for Kiara. She was gone.

It's been about 4 hours, abhi decides to go and check is Pragya is back. Abhi waits in the car outside pragya's house trying to figure out if Pragya is back home or no. However is mind is still thinking about Kiara.

After an hour of waiting, abhi finally decides to go and check if Pragya is back. abhi rings the bell and the caretaker comes out.

Caretaker: Yes how may I help you

Abhi: Hey I am here to see Pragya

Caretaker: Oh, in that case, you are late. Pragya has left back for NewYork directly from Pia's college

Abhi: Oh really. Thanks for the information.

Abhi though happy to have finally seen Pragya is dejected her couldn't meet her. What is this? Why is it that I am not able to meet her? Why is destiny playing this game? Who is Kiara? Why does it feel like i know her?

Abhi rushes to the hotel to check out and fly back to new York. He takes the late night flight. He is really missing Pragya and decides to call her.

Pragya's phone ringing: Damn this same Indian number, Who is this guy (answering the phone) Hello who is this

Abhi: Fuggi, it is me

Pragya is shocked: Suniye is that really you

Abhi: Yes fuggi, abhi is choked with emotion and tears keep flowing

Pragya: (Has tears in her eyes and cannot believe her ears, but is worried about abhi) Suniye what happened are you okay. Why are you weeping

Abhi: Pragya I am in New York, will you meet me

Pragya: What??? You are in New York. How did you know where to find me?

Abhi: Pragya can I answer this question later. I need to see you. I cannot wait anymore

Pragya: Okay I will text you my address... come home

Abhi: Pragya 'I am ...' he weeps like a child

Pragya: Suniye you are getting me worried. Come home quick I am waiting for you. I have sent you my address

Abhi: I will be there, as soon as I can

Pragya: Do not drive rashly

Abhi: Yes fuggi I won't

Pragya keeps the phone and is now pacing up and down the house. She is worried about Abhi and his current state.

Abhi, on the other hand, is restless as hell. All he wants to do is hugs Pragya and just cry is heart out and apologize for his stupidity.

Apologies for the delay in writing this part. Couldn't get myself to write. Finally, it just happened.
