Tuesday has been a drag for everyone at the magazine. By the middle of every month staff workers are already finishing up for the next month's paper. Preparing articles, finishing any editing on details, including setting the issue's cover photo. One of the most important parts to making the magazine. It's the first thing a customer sees when choosing to buy any magazine off from the shops. As the infamous line goes: "Always judge a book by its cover."
With summer slowly moving by, the sun has started to warm up the interior of the magazine's building. Pushing aside hangers on a clothing rack in his office, Harry looks to find an outfit for the model to wear on the front of August cover's issue. The top buttons on his blouse are open from feeling a bit hot with the weather from outside heating up his skin. He's really starting to regret wearing thick layers today.
This puts into perspective of what clothes to choose for the model Adut Akech's covershot. Something thin and cool feeling to wear while having to deal with the July heat. Harry examines through an unreleased summer/resort collection from The Row on the clothing rack while behind him stands two art directors from Styles Magazine. Behind them stands TeenStyles's own editor-in-chief, Louis Tomlinson, his junior assistant by his side.
Miss Wilde came up earlier. The café's coffee cup is still on Harry's desk even though it's completely empty. Louis thought it would be best if Poppy had some more experience around the office rather than answering the phones and scheduling appointments for people to meet with him all day. Besides, his senior assistant was busy running an errand for him with his writers about a possible article on an upcoming designer from Kenya. So Miss Taylor was his other option to bring up and discuss about future plans for fashion month coming soon.
"The cover photo of Adut is being taken this week, yes?" Harry questions in reassurance to know that the issue's cover photo is not late for schedule.
"Correct." Answers one of his art directors.
"When?"
"This Thursday morning," Replies the other. "Eleven at the Tower Bridge."
Harry keeps his focus on the clothing line sitting on the rack. The collision of warm beiges and creams comforting his stress overload. "Whose the photographer?"
"Liam Payne."
"Good. He knows what to do to get the right photo," Harry trails on his words once a certain suit catches his eye. Tan colored with the pants long, something he could see Adut Akech looking stunning on the front page of Styles Magazine with.
Pulling the hanger off the rack, he looks over the suit in approval. "Have Adut model in something like this," He says. "It's the August issue so we're beginning to transcend into Fall. Start finding sweaters and boots for pictures."
Holding out the tan suit, one of the art directors takes it with the other beginning to roll out the rack from the office. Both move to leave and head for the elevator to go back down to Styles Magazine's main office floor. Another thought passes through Harry's mind for his art directors to know before they leave. He quickly turns wiping the sweat that trickles down his hairline as he calls out, "But nothing too heavy! Summer hasn't even finished yet!"
They walk out the office doors without an acknowledgement of what Harry just said. They didn't need to, knowing that if they choose to go against Mister Styles's wishes it'll be their last night ever leaving the paper.
