Long before building a successful career in the field of oil and gas, Bijan Sarhangpour enjoyed considerable success in competitive fencing. Trained in the sport at an early age, Sarhangpour collected 85 medals during his fencing career – many of which were earned during his participation in numerous international fencing competitions. Sarhangpour competed for the Iranian National team on the Cadet, Junior and Senior levels – and was a highly-ranked competitor throughout his fencing career.
