Chapter 1

"Hey, Pup! How are you there?" Nica asked excitedly. Neil and Nica were talking through video chat.

"Um, listen I have to tell you some-"

"Pup did you know-"

"Look! Stop it okay?!"

Nica was shocked. Neil never raised his voice at her.

"I'm breaking up with you!"

Nica was frozen at her spot at what she heard. The words kept replaying in her mind like a broken recorder.

"No! That's not true! Tell me its not, right?" Nica asked pleadingly. "I'm really sorry" Neil said. "Why? What did I do wrong?" Nica asked hoping Neil would take back the words he said.

"I-I found another here" Neil reasoned to Nica. Nica automatically closed her laptop and cried until she fell asleep.

She woke up the next day with swollen eyes and a red nose. She went downstairs not caring what she looked like.

She caught her parents fighting with each other. "Mom, Dad? What's happening?" Nica asked her parents.

Her parents just kept qiuet.

Her dad walked off leaving them in the living room. "Mom?" Nica asked her mom. "That was nothing, dear. Your dad just had a bad morning." Her mom said, but she was not concvinced.

Nica ate her breakfast but she had no will to. Good thing it was a weekend because she doesn't anyone to see her face.

She didn't even tell her best friend about her status with Neil. Ahh... Neil Jonathan Garcia, the love of my life, but I don't think I'm the love of his life now, she thought to herself.

Nica went to her room and sent Neil an email.

It has been days since Nica sent the email, but she never got a reply from Neil.

Nica was starting to lose hope. She was thinking maybe Neil fell out of love. Nica and Neil started dating when they were in their first year in college not until Neil broke up with Nica a few days ago.

In those few days, Nica felt alone, she didn't even tell her best friend, Jessica, yet about what happened between her and Neil.

Nica was unsure of how long she can keep her facade of a happy face to everyone. Nica was going to the coffee shop near her house in a blue dress. She walked in the shop and quickly searched for her best friend.

She found her best friend, Jessica Ramirez, sitting near the glass window wearing an orange dress. Her brown hair cascading down her shoulders in big curls.

This is it! I'm telling her what happened. Nica thought to herself. Jessica saw Nica and quickly srood up and gave her a hug.

"Let's order?" Nica asked Jessica. Jessica nodded her head in response. They both went to the counter and ordered.

When they went back Nica was holding a tray woth Blueberry Cheesecake and regular coffee while Jessica ordered Capuccino.

When they sat down Jess asked what was the emergency. Nica was holding back the tears that were about to fall.

Jessica noticed this and quickly went to her side. "Hey, are you okay?" Jessica asked. Right there and then Nica's tears went off lile a faucet.

"Hey, are you okay?"

Mica shook her head telling Jessica what had happened a few days ago. "Ooh! That JERK!" Jess said with clenched fists.

Nica was just crying silently while Jessica was calming her down. "Hey... it'll be fine, okay? Just show that jerk that you are strong and it will not affect you" Jessica said comforting her.

Nica nodded her head while sniffing.

Jessica and Nica went to the mall to entertain theirselves after. Nica didn't feel like go to the mall, so she just let Jessica take her anywhere.

"Jess, I'm hungry. Let's eat dinner?" Nica asked Jessica after they were done shopping. They didn't notice that it was already night time when they were shopping.

Jessica bought all types of clothes that fits her taste. Nica was juat there sitting waiting forJessica to finish shopping everytime they go to a store.

Nica and Jessica settled in McDonald's. Nica ordered Chicken Fillet with drinks and so as Jessica.

They finished their meal abd went back home to Nica's condo when they bumped into someone and his drinks spilled on his shirt.

Nica apologised to the guy but the guy just rubbed her off. Nica just shrugged and went to the parking lot and got inside her car and drove off.

On the way she almost bumped on another car. Nica went outside her car and so did the driver of the the car.

Nica got out and was shocked to see the same guy she had bumped in the mall.

"YOU AGAIN?! UGH CAN'T THIS DAY GET ANY WORST!!" The guy shouted.

Nica got in her car and drove off leaving the guy shouting in the middle of the road.

Good thing there weren't many cars passing by. Nica got to her condo and took a shower afterwards. After sje got out of the bathroom, she slumped herself on the bed.

'Well, what a way to end the day, huh?' she thought to herself before falling asleep
