I snuck quietly around a corner and saw a lazy guard standing patrol in front of a coded door. Too obvious, I thought to myself, shaking my head disapprovingly. They were real stupid if they thought that this didn't catch any attention. If I were them, I would hide whatever important thing was behind an unlocked and common door. No one would ever think twice to check that room. But knowing the person who was behind this gave me reason to believe that he was, indeed, stupid. And reckless might I add, for only posting one guard in front of the door and thinking that nobody could simply crack the code. Boy was he wrong.I was sent here by the Agency, because they had suspicions of him plotting his next move. He had been quiet for some time, but I supposed it was just the anticipation of what else he had planned.
The Centre heard about his break-in in the company that provided many major organisations and buildings with security systems. This action led many to believe that he was planning was something big. However, we were at a loss as to what exactly he was planning.
I checked the hallway for any cameras and found two, both hanging toward the guarded door. I satisfactorily noted that they had been shut off right on time. I had hacked into the security system from my hotel room before I entered this building and set the timer so I would have just enough time to get in and out without being seen. As precaution I wore casual clothes with a dark wig with bangs and a pair of fake glasses so I would be unrecognisable.
I waited until the guard was distracted and quickly came into action.
I calmly, but with large strides I walked up to him. He looked at me and frowned, opening his mouth to tell me I'm not allowed to be here, but I rudely interrupted him by thrusting my left elbow hard to his nose, causing tears to well up in his eyes and send him stumbling backwards, grasping the source of his agony. The limited sight made him unable to notice my next move. I counted on this as he now had created enough space for me to swing my right leg forward in a swift kick, hitting him on his temple. He went right down to sleep.
The action was over within only a couple of seconds and barely any noise. Yet, I didn't move until I was absolutely certain there was no one coming. I swiftly moved over to the panel and hacked the code necessary to get in with my untraceable phone, courtesy of SOC.
605201. A green light and a slight 'click' as the door opened followed. I pushed the door open further and slipped inside. Checking the door whether it could be opened from inside, I slid the first object I could grasp between the door, so it wouldn't be able to close and lock me inside.
I scanned the room. It was dark and I couldn't detect any motion sensors or other extravagant tools to keep intruders from entering the room. This guy clearly conserved money for his other criminal activities judging by the lack of security in this place. Or he didn't care much for what I was assigned to take from this room. I mean, it kind of made sense since this room looked like a mail office. It had all kinds of files arranged in boxes, most of which probably were not very important.
It seemed that he did care about his administration, because everything was perfectly organised by date. I didn't need more than a minute to find the file I needed using the flashlight on my phone to be able to see something in the dark room.
He only ever used printed documents, in case someone would hack into their systems, which would've been smart, provided he upped the actual security guards.
He did have cameras hanging around for his people to check at headquarters.
I placed the file safely in the hidden pocket in my jacket and I was about to leave the room when a metal sound got my attention. Within a second I spun around to face the not-so-unconscious guard and grabbed the gun from his hands before he was even able to aim properly. With the heavy back of the gun I once again sent him to dreamland. I put the gun inside my jacket along with the file for any later use.
