CORA

Disguised as members of the cult, we sneaked in and blended in with a crowd. In the middle of the hallway was Blade. He was wearing nothing but a plain white shirt and sweatpants, and his black hair had a white streak across it. He was also unusually pale. This was our first time up close to the leader and he was quite the contrast to the rugged and tough looking members. "The time has come! As soon as the sun sets, the wall between both worlds will become weak!" The crowd let out a cheer. I felt sick to the stomach. I looked at my friends. Kate's eyes reflected anger, pure hatred was burning in her soul. Gabe was desperately attempting to keep his cool, and Ryan was silent. His gaze looked empty and far away. They weren't taking it very well... "The gods of Terra require some sacrifices, and the people of this simple world will suffice," Blade announced. From across the hallway, staff, students, and teachers walked in a single line, two cultists on every side. Oh no... They're eyes were tinted dark. They were under the control of the Bloodveil cult. Ryan grabbed my arm. "Where's Mr. V?" He asked. His voice was shaky. I pulled down my red scarf and smiled. "He's helping us by getting the police. He told us to stay put but we needed to take action now." Gabe nodded in agreement. "Oh fierce deities! Please accept our sacrifice! Come feast!" Blade hollered. The sun had begun to set and the cult began to chant. "Cora! What's the plan? Brad could be anywhere and we're running out of time!" Kate yelled. The chants almost drowned out her voice. "We have to get to the top floor, he might still be in the club!" I quickly motioned to the right, there was the staircase. The chants became monotonic. There was a strange aura in the air, and the cultists had slumped down a bit. Blade's eyes seemed out of focus. It's almost like they're dead. We quickly rushed to the stairs. Wait, we're missing... "RYAN! What the hell are you doing!?" Gabe yelled. He refused to move and kept looking at the circle of people. "W-we can't leave them there! What will happen to all of them?" Ryan protested. "They'll be fine! We have at least fifteen minutes until sunset. But we need Brad in order to get out!" I said quickly. Ryan looked at the circle, then at us, then at the circle... "Ryan! Trust me! Please!" I pleaded. Ryan took a step back. "I-I don't know. You've been acting really weird. How am I supposed to trust you if you won't tell us exactly what happened that night?" My stomach suddenly cramped. "There's no time to explain! Come on!" I began running up the stairs. I looked back and saw Kate and Gabe hesitantly following. Come on, Ryan! Slowly he began to walk... Then he ran up to join us. I smiled. Thank you for trusting me. We ran to the second floor. Kate stopped suddenly. "Do you guys hear that?" I stopped and listened. "Yes!" There were sounds of people fighting. We looked at the top of the second flight of stairs. Brad and a cultist were tumbling down, and they were pretty beat up. "Grab him!" I yelled. Immediately we threw ourselves on top of them. We restrained the cultist and got him off Brad. "A-alright ya a-holes! Give me all you got, I ain't afraid!!" Brad yelled at us. Ryan stepped forward and pulled down his scarf. "Brad, it's us. Let's get out of here," He said, offering his hand. Brad got wide-eyed, or partially due to his black eye. Then he smiled and took it. I quickly looked away, it reminded me of something. Kate and Gabe struggled with the cultist. "Put me down! You guys will get punished!" He screamed. Smoked filled the air. I suddenly realized what was happening. "Guys! Get away from him!" I yelled. Kate and Gabe looked at the the cultist, he had begun to burn. They immediately let go of him, and we ran down the stairs. "What the hell!? What is he!?" Kate screamed. The cultist then burst into flames, and he extended his arms. "Get down!" We dove down the remaining steps as a burst of fire flew overhead. "H-he can shoot energy like Ken Masters!" Brad yelled. Ryan groaned as we quickly rushed to the circle. I looked back and saw the cultist collapse in pain. "Wake them up! Don't disturb the cultists!" I commanded. Each of us then shook each victim. They blinked and looked around in panic. "What's going on!?" One of them said. Ryan looked at me and nodded. "No time to explain, get out of here!" He yelled. A mob of chaos began to run out the door. "Oh no," I whispered. The sun's last rays disappeared into the horizon. Red and blue had begun to flash outside, and Mr. V ran through the crowd towards us. "Kids! Why are you all still here! Get out now!" He yelled. Blade let out a scream. We looked at him in shock. It was so unnatural, it sounded like a monster. His eyes began to glow as a huge blob of energy formed behind him. It began to pull everything towards it. "RUN! GET AWAY!" I screamed. It was too late. There was a flash of light, and I saw my friends' terrified faces as the light ate them. I closed my eyes. It's over...
