Knowing who you really are is hard. I know this from experience, especially if you can't tell anyone about real you for your own safety. I'm Chloe Elizabeth Lukaisak and I'm a demon. I sound crazy, I know. That's exactly what my mother said when I told her what dad said before he left and that's why I'm here right now. I'm currently in a summer camp for troubled and 'crazy' kids. It's not all that bad. I've met a few awesome people who have done awesome things, for example, Nia Fraizer is a confirmed psychopath and killed her cousins. Cool huh? Obviously it's not very cool every one but to a demon with killer instincts, it's amazing. I've never killed and don't exactly want to but I do have urges every once in awhile.

"Lucifer Lukasiak!" Shouts Maddison from over the court yard.

"Mad Maddie!" I shout back and laugh. Me and Maddie have been in here for a month now and have be friended each other.

"How's it going then?" Maddie asks while drinking from her plastic glass. We aren't aloud glass for obvious reasons.

"Same old, same old, you?"

"Good, I shouldn't even be in here! I should be partying with better people than the people in here." She says with a laugh but I know she isn't joking. Maddie has Narcissistic personality disorder which means she believes she is better than anyone else and is highly rude.

"Haha, so what you wanna do?" I ask her.

"Hmm, can I see you're eyes? Like you're real ones?" She pleads.

"Sure." I say and close my eyes, when I re-open them, they're red. The whole eye, not just the iris.

"That's so cool!" Maddie exclaims

"Thanks." I reply as I switch back to normal. As we were talking I hear a scream in anger and pain, it's Mackenzie Ziegler. Mackenzie is Maddie's cousin and suffers from schizophrenia. "I feel bad for her, she has it bad." I tell Maddie as I kick a stone around.

"I don't." Replies Maddie completely serious.

"Oh yeah..." I mumble. Maddie is literally incapable of feeling empathy.

"There's a new girl in here today apparently." Maddie says, "I'm quiet curios."

"Shall we go to the front desk and see?" I ask. With out an answer Maddie gets up and walks to the desk in reception.

"Hey Rebecca." Maddie shouts as she bursts through the door.

"Calm down Madison." Rebecca says, unfazed by Maddie's behaviour. Rebecca is the head nurse here and is my favourite. Maddie can charm anyone due to her personality disorder but I can't and she still likes me.

"So, the gossip?" Maddie asks while she hops up on the desk and pasta spot next to her for me to sit.

"You talking about the new girl?" Rebecca asks, giving us a knowing look that we shouldn't be asking about this. Rebecca is in her late twenties and has bright, blonde hair like me and green eyes."Well, her car just pulled up now." She continues as she cranes her neck to confirm.

"Cool!" Maddie replies. A woman and three kids walk through the door. My eye is straight away drawn to the boy of the three, he is tall and handsome and has amazing eyes but there's something not right about him. He smiles at me shyly and turns to face Rebecca.

"Well, I'm guessing you are Paige?" Rebecca says with a smile, gesturing to the tall blonde girl.

"Yup." She says looking at her hands.

"Nice to meet you, I'm going to have a chat with you're family while these to girls take you to you're room, okay?" She looks at me and Maddie expectantly. I turn to Maddie and she looks smug. "It's next to Chloe's." Maddie waves her over and we go out to the courtyard.

"I'm Maddie Ziegler, the most popular kid here." Maddie says with a genuine smile. Paige looks at me confused. Maddie puts her hand out to shake Paige's but Paige hesitates.

"Social Anxiety?" I but in.

"Uh yeah and history of panic attacks and violence, sorry for being rude but I don't like contact..." Paige says ashamed.

"Ok." Maddie replies. No sympathy is found in her words or face, that's Maddie for you.

"What you in here for?" Paige asks her.

"Narcissistic personality disorder." Maddie replies, uninterested.

"What about you?" Paige questions as she looks at me.

"Um, I'm a satanic worshiper?" It came out more as a question because I didn't want to say 'I'm a demon' to a girl I just met.

"Oh, psychopath?" She asks. She clearly knows her stuff.

"Nah, they think I'm a sociopath." I retort.

"Oh." Bye the time we reach her room Maddie has left to go see if she can charm her way into seeing Kendall and Nia in their private area past visiting times. People who they think can turn violent have different areas for safety. Me and Paige sit her bed talking about school and stuff until Ruby comes around with a note for me and Paige.

"You guys better get friendly," Ruby says with a small smile "because you guys are going to be out of here in two weeks and living together in the Hyland's house."

"Why?" I ask.

"You're mother can't take it anymore, Kelly is now looking after you until your mother decides what she is going to do." Ruby says sadly.

"Oh well." The fact that my mother had given up with me didn't upset me. Ruby leaves and now it's lights out.

"Paige?"

"Yeah?" She replies slowly.

"I'm not crazy, I'm serious." I says quietly.

"About what?"

"Demons." I whisper.

"How do you know their real?"

"Because I am one." I say quickly and run into my room before I get a reply. What have I done?
