I lay on my bed thinking about what I just did. A thousand images flash through my head. She may just think I'm insane or she may just accept it like Maddie did or she might try and kill me or call me a freak like Kalani did back at school. I really want to be friends with her but she won't want any thing to do with me now, she only has social anxiety and here I am a freaking demon who she thinks is bloody insane. I quietly let out sobs into my pillow because I have to live with her now and she hates me. I screw every thing up. Maybe I could get an an exorcism? It wouldn't work because I have a twisted soul so that means I am not possessed, I was born a demon. I carry on crying until I drift asleep and dream of normality and friendship.
"Wake up!" A voice I recognise as Maddie calls out.
"Go away." I grumble and pull the bed sheet up to my face.
"It's a Saturday today! You know what this means." She shouts excitedly. I bolt out of bed and jump up and down.
"The mall and evaluations!" I squeal in delight. Every Saturday we get to go the mall with Rebecca, only the ones making progress though.
"Yeah but apparently you don't need to go to evaluations because you are getting out of this place." Maddie says, envy in her voice.
"Yeah, I'm living with Paige."
"Nice." She replies blankly.
"Hey." Paige says quietly as she comes into my room.
"Hey." I reply shyly.
"Are you coming to the mall!?" Maddie asks rather excitedly.
"Yep." Paige replies with a smile. I ask them to leave my room so I can get changed. I decide to wear my black skinny jeans and my my grey DROP DEAD CLOTHING top and slip my feet into my docs. I shove a black beanie over my wavy hair and leave the room to go see if Paige is still my friend after the events of last night. Paige's choice of clothing are completely different to mine. She is wearing a black skater skirt with a bright orange crop top and white converse.
"Hey..." I say nervously.
"Chlo, I believe you." Paige says quietly.
"Why?" I ask, unsure if she is just joking.
"Me and my family are angels but told me that demons aren't real." She says while looking at her hands.
"Really?" I ask, curios about her and her family.
"Yep, look." She replies as she start taking her top off.
"Um Paige? You can keep you're clothes on." I say with an awkward laugh. She smiles and turns to face her back to me and arches her back. In a flash, a pair of pure white wings with pastel pink tips sprout out of her back. They are the most beautiful things I have ever seen. They reminded me of the clouds in the evening when good wether is expected. I could look at them all day and not get bored. "They're beautiful, Paige." I mumble as I get up to get a closer look.
"Thanks." She whispers quietly, obviously embarrassed by the fact she is standing there in her bra.
"Can I feel them?" I ask quietly, unsure of the answer, "I know you have social anxiety but I will be gentle." Paige gulps and nods her head.
"Only if you show me the properties of a demon."
"Of corse." I respond. I place my hand on the wings and feel the plushness of the beautiful things. I pull my hand away and Paige retracts her wings into her back. She puts her top back on and you couldn't tell that she had layers of feathers under her skin.
She sits on the bed and opens her mouth to speak.
"Angels only let close friends see and touch our wings, don't expect me to show you them all the time." She says sharply. I was quiet hurt by the statement. I think she noticed and corrected her self, "Obviously we are friends, but not best friends at the moment, I would like to become close, If you would like..."
"Sure" I reply happily. "I don't think angels like demons so don't tell you're family I am one. I don't know any demons." I add on sadly.
"Can I see you're eyes?" She asks.
"Sure." I reply as I close my eyes and re-open them as my red eyes.
"Wow! They're amazing." Paige exclaims.
"Thanks, not as cool as your wings though." I say with a laugh.
"Let's go find Maddie." Paige offers. We get up off her bed and walk out of the room.
"So we are friends now?"
"Yes." She responds.
"Good, what's the rules with the contact?" I ask as I don't want to make her condition any worse.
"We are friends now so I will have to get over it." She says with a laugh as she puts her hand around my shoulder. I am a bit surprised by the sudden contact but I put my arm around hers and walk over to the group waiting to go to the mall. I'm feeling the best I have in years.
(( Author's note: The cosh will come stuff will be in the next couple of chapters, I just had to make Chloe and Paige friends before they move in. What do you think about Paige being an angel? Votes and comments appreciated!:) ))
