"Wake up!" Paige hisses. I groan and hope out of bed and drag my way to the bath room. I have been part of the Hyland household for a week now and love it. I've avoided Josh at all costs thought because he flirts with me a lot and that's gross. It's my first day at school. I hop the shower and let the steam soothe my body. I chuck on my Greenday top on and a pair of super skinny, black jeans and my trusty converse. I walk out into Paige's room where she is sitting on her bed, staring into the distance.
"Paigey?" I ask, trying to get her attention.
"Oh sorry," Paige replies while shaking her head, "I was in my own little world."
"Yeah, I could tell." I tell her with a smirk. We head down stairs to the kitchen and take seat and the huge dinning table. Kelly places plates of bacon and beans on our place mats. "Thanks Mrs. Hyland." I say with a smile across my face.
"Call me Kelly," she replies, "And no problem, sweetie." Me and Paige shove the food down our throats as quickly as possible and head for the bus stop. When we get there, a group of girls huddled together shoot me death glares.
"What the hell Paige? So we aren't good enough but that emo is?!" One of the girls exclaims. I watch as Paige ignores them and gulps. Paige has social anxiety and a history of violence, a shouting group of girls isn't the best thing for her.
"Please leave me alone, I have no intentions of joining your group." Paige snaps back.
"What ever, you should consider it though. Your pretty and we are pretty so it works!" One of the other girls shouts. The bus arrives before any thing else could happen, me and Paige take an empty seat, far away from the girls.
"What was that about?" I ask, completely oblivious to the reason.
"Since middle school, Autumn has been trying to get me to be her friend. I have no idea why." Paige replies, confusion obvious on her face.
"I'll sort them out next time." I say with a smirk, quickly flashing my demon eyes, "Why don't you just read their minds and find out?" I add.
"I have to trust the person, they could hurt my mind otherwise." Paige replies blankly.
"So you trust the fricken Anti-Christ but not them?" A new voice pipes in, "Wow, I'm shocked." The voice adds sarcastically. I turn my head to find out who it is and of corse, the one and only Josh Hyland.
"What do you want?" Paige groans.
"A lot of thing." Josh says whilst smirking at me.
"Wait! Do you know about chlo?!" Paige asks panicked.
"Yeah," says Josh with a bored tone, "She burnt herself on the holy water tap."
"You are an idiot." Paige States with a laugh. The bus pulls up and the students hop out.
"See ya later, sexy." Josh says to me with a wink.
"That's gross." I mumble. Paige shows me around and gets my time table with me all before homeroom. We make our way to Miss Jones class for home room when we are stopped by masses of students crowed around two people, two girls to be exact. Paige and I weave through the bodies and make it to the front, hoping to get a glance. All I can see it a tall brunette girl punching a smaller dark skinned girl. The brunette lifts her head and I can see who it is, it's Maddie Ziegler. Not wanting to get involved and still in shock, I watch the fight continue, the dark skinned girl get ups and punches Maddie so hard she falls on the floor, the dark skinned girl smirks and kicks Maddie in the stomach and walks away. I run to Maddie's assistance."Oh my god! Are you okay?" I ask, panicking.
"I'm fine." Maddie replies and gets up, not caring about her state.
"I have two questions," Paige pipes in, "one; who was that? Two; why are you here?"
"One; Meg Andreas! Two; I was let out and sent with a foster carer."
"You sure you're okay?" I ask.
"Yes I'm fine, I'm going to class now so I'll see you around." Maddie replies and skips off.
"Well that was weird." Paige mumbles.
"Tell me about it." I groan. When break comes around, me and Paige decided to meet by the lockers, I was waiting for Paige when Josh caught my eye. He walked straight past me and over to Maddie. He whispered something in her ear and she blushed and smiled. Something bubbled up inside me, totally not jealous because I don't like him.
Paige finally shows up and Josh decides to stroll over.
"I got a date with Maddie!" Exclaims Josh.
"Ooh! Another one for your collection?" Paige asks sarcastically.
"Whatever, she is the second hottest girl in this school so fuck you."
"I thought swearing was a sin?" I ask, confused since he was an angel.
"Shut up Chloe." Josh says quickly. I slump back and try not to let the feeling of disappointment run through me. I don't know why I feel like this.
"Just because Megan Andreas doesn't like you." Paige states.
"Maybe it is!" He shouts back. Paige told me early about his mega crush In that Andreas girl.
"Bye." Josh says in a huff, "Just for the record, Nick will never like you." Josh says with a smirk. Paige looks horrified and embarrassed, that must be her crush.
"Come one, we got science." I say as I try and break the tension. When we get to science, Paige tells me we are taking a grade higher science. When we walk into Miss Adele's class, she gives us a seating plan.
"Miss Hyland, go sit by Mr Nick Dobbs." Miss orders. A smile spreads across Nicks face and Paige goes bright red as she pulls her chair out to sit down; This must be the Nick she likes.
"As for Mr Hyland," oh shit I forgot Josh was in this class, "You can sit by Miss....?" She says as she looks at me
"Lukaisak." I inform her.
"Great." Josh mumbles. Well this is going to be fun. Ten minutes left of class and Josh is showing off.
"I can name ten elements of the periodic table with out looking, I bet you can't." Josh says smugly.
"Wanna bet?" I reply with a smirk.
"Sure, ten dollars if you can do it."
"Ok. Iron, Oxygen, Helium, Neon, Bromine, Silver, Gold, Aluminium, Hydrogen, Magnessium. Just to name a few." I say with a laugh, "Now hand over the money."
"Here." Josh slaps down a ten dollar note on the table, "Smart, sarcastic and sexy." Josh says Josh with a wink. I roll my eyes and look over to Paige and Nick, they're so cute! Class ends and I make my way out. As I lean against the old lab, Josh comes up to me. "Me and the boys are going out on Saturday and was wondering if you wanna come? Paige is going too." He asks.
"Sure" I agree, I make a note to ask Paige about it.
"I invited Maddie too." Oh I think to my self. Well this is going to be fun, sarcasm is great.
