Chapter 14
Isabella's P.O.V.
I arrived at Starbucks just a few minutes later and went inside. I looked around the small place, trying to find Frankie, but he was no where to be seen, so I just told myself that he hasn't arrived yet.
The smell of coffee beans fills my nostrils and I sigh. There was a tap on my shoulder, which made me twirl around in my seat. No one was behind me. I turned back around in my seat and saw Frankie sitting across from me. I jumped out of my seat a bit and raised my hand to my chest.
"Frankie, you scared me!" I said. He smiled brightly, showing white teeth. I giggled and smiled back.
"It's nice to see you, Issy. I haven't seen you in, what? 3 months?" he asked. I blushed and shrunk in my chair a bit.
"Yes..." I mumbled. I could hear Frankie laughing and I gave him a look. He stopped laughing and stood up.
"Wanna get something?" I nodded quickly in response and followed Frankie to the front of the place.
"Hi, what can I get for you?" the perky, blonde waitress asked. I scanned the menu above her head before answering.
"Mocha cookie crumble, please." I looked at Frankie as he spoke.
"And I'll have a caramel frappucino," he said.
"Will that be all?" the cashier asked. Frankie and I both nodded and she punched in some stuff on the register before telling us the price, "$7.02."
I quickly got my wallet out and slapped a $10 bill down on the counter. I looked at Frankie, who was looking at me, and I gave him a sweet smile. The cashier took the money and then handed me my change. I thanked her and moved to the side to wait for our drinks.
"Thanks," Frankie said. I shrugged, like it was nothing.
"Caramel frappucino?!" some tall, muscular guy called. Frankie grabbed his drink and went to sit down at our table. I stood there, alone. "Mocha cookie crumble?!" the same guy called again. I grabbed it from his hand and he smiled at me. I turned away and walked over to where Frankie was sitting. I took a sip of my coffee as I scanned the place.
"So, what's it like?" Frankie asked. I looked at him, confused. "Oh, you know! What's it like dating Zayn Malik?"
I smirked, looking down at my drink, "It's really nothing special. He's a sweet guy. I like him a lot."
"Oh, well, thats good... Right?" Frankie implied. I nodded and took another sip of my coffee.
For the remainder of the time that I didn't have to be at the venue, Frankie and I chatted. Eventually, we both parted and went our separate ways. Luckily, the venue wasn't too far from Starbucks. About 35 minutes, and it was 4:50.
I drove down the road, window down and my hair flying all over the place. The light that was once green changed to red and I came to a stop. It was pretty quiet, other than the cars that went by and the sound of my car running, so I turned on the radio. I skipped through the channels, trying to find something good. I stopped when I heard the words 'One Direction.' I smiled a little and continued letting it play. The song wasn't What Makes You Beautiful, and that was mainly the only song I knew. Other than bits and pieces of a few other songs.
The light turned green again and I hit the gas pedal, zooming forward.
"I've tried playing it cool. But when I'm looking at you, I can't ever be brave, cause you make my heart race..." came through the speakers.
I turned up the volume and realized I sort of knew this song. I hummed along to the words since I didn't really know what they were saying all the time.
I pulled into the parking lot of the venue and parked close to the front. The clock read 5:39 pm. I pulled my phone out of my purse and texted Zayn to tell him that I arrived.
From: Zayn :)
Ok babe. I'll come meet you around the back.
He responded. I killed the engine of my car and got out, then made my way over to the back of the building where Zayn was stood, a smile on his face. I grinned and ran to him, wrapping my arms around him.
"Hey, love. Excited to see the show?" he asked. I looked up at his perfect face and kissed his lips softly, then I smiled again.
"Yes, very," I replied. I pulled out of the hug and we walked into the building together.
"Hey Isabella!" came from somewhere. I looked around and found Niall walking towards Zayn and I.
"Hi Niall. Where are the other boys?"
"Oh, they're back there." he said, pointing towards their small lounge. I nodded and pulled Zayn over there with me.
All the guys greeted me happily, and I caught Josh giving Zayn a look. Confused as to what it was for, I let it go.
"So, when does the show start?" I asked.
"About 7:15-7:30." Liam answered. I nodded and looked around. It was roomy backstage. I liked it. Logan's tweet came to my mind again and I felt my face get hot. I frowned and I felt Zayn put his arm around my waist.
"Are you okay?" he asked. I shifted myself to face him and nodded. I hated to lie to him, but I didn't want to make him even more nervous than he already was. "Babe, you sure?"
I nodded again, "Yeah, I'm fine, Zayn." I reassured him. He let it go, and then I started thinking if not telling him about Logan's plan was the right thing to do...
