I stayed at home for a month straight. Many men came and took our rented items away such as our appliances and my car. The bills came at the end of the month and I was flat out broke. I couldn't pay for anything else. Every bill was paid for and I had less than $300 to last me until I got a job. I still had two mouths to feed too. My kitten was the only thing left in my life that kept me living. Without him, I don't think I would be here anymore.

Finally it became the beginning of July. I had already missed my birthday and was now 26 years old. I walked outside in my robe to get my mail.

"Excuse me ma'm?" A man stated in a questioning but yet gentle tone. The man was wearing all black with a hat and a mask covering his mouth.

"Um?" I looked up and looked into his eyes. I've seen them before, in the grocery store!

"I'm so sorry about your loss. I heard that you needed a job." He gently answer walking towards me.

"How do you know that? How to you know where I live? How do you know what happened?" I quickly questioned him.

"Hey, I watch the news okay?" He said in more of a harsh tone than what I was expecting.

"I'm on the news?" I whispered. I was shocked. I had always wanted to be known for something but not for this! I started to walk toward my front door forgetting the man was behind me.

He cleared his throat. "Ma'm, may I come in?" He asked gently.

I thought to myself, what much more do I have to lose? "Yes, um sure." I smiled and opened the door for him. He brushed past me. I could smell his sweet scented cologne as he walked by.

"Come right over here" I said leading him into my living room. "I hope you're not allergic to cats" I said walking into the kitchen. "Can I get you anything to drink?"

"Can I have a glass of water?" he asked from the living room. He began taking off his garments first his hat then his mask, shoes and then jacket.

I walked back into the living room and instantly dropped the glass of water in my hand.

Michael Jackson was in my living room, sitting on my couch, laughing at me as I dropped the glass of water.
