HIS !

THE DINNER HAD BEEN going great. Dale was occupied with Bella, complaining that he misses when his daughters were babies. Mackenzie and Lauren were chatting about everything, they had so much to talk about. Ashton and Johnny were the only two who were quiet. Meridith had been speaking to Ashton about business until she had stepped out to go grab dessert.

Mackenzie looked to her right to see Ashton and Johnny staring at each other, except their faces weren't the happiest looking. Johnny has his perfectly chiseled jaw clenched. Even Lauren was watching this intense scene fold out.

Ashton was about to open his mouth when Meridith had entered the room with desserts in both hands. A red velvet cake in one while an apple pie was held tightly in the other. Ashton quickly pulled a smile while Johnny rolled his eyes. Mackenzie caught that gesture and sighed to herself.

She looked up once more to see Johnny staring right her for the millionth time tonight. This time he smiled, but it didn't quite reach his eye. Nevertheless, Mackenzie unexpectedly smiled back softly before thanking Meridith.

All that was running through Johnny's mind was Mackenzie's smile and how much he missed seeing it. He wanted her so bad, he needed her. Yet the person who got her is sitting across the table from him.

Ashton dropped the keys in the bowl and stormed up to the bedroom, leaving Mackenzie and Bella downstairs. She softly closed the front door, trying not to wake her daughter up. It was 10:30 pm and Bella had fallen asleep during the car ride home.

Mackenzie and Ashton hadn't spoken the whole entire car ride, it was completely silent. He never wanted to go to the dinner, he knew it would be awkward considering the ex boyfriend of his fiancé would be there.

He isn't blaming Mackenzie, she had every right to go visit them. But Ashton was uncomfortable and she never acknowledged that. Once Mackenzie had put Bella down in her cot she made her way to the bedroom she shared with Ashton.

He was in only boxers, under the covers and typing emails on his laptop. Mackenzie took a seat besides on the bed. "Baby, please don't be mad at me. I'm sorry I was so persistent on making you go, I just really missed them."

Ashton closed his laptop and set it aside before shuffling to face Mackenzie. "I'm not mad at you, I'm not mad at anybody. It just frustrated me that Johnny was there. I saw him staring and smiling. It really hurt."

Mackenzie shook her head. "Baby I love you so much, Johnny is the past.  You're my future."

Ashton leaned in and kissed his girlfriend, she began to giggle when they pulled away. Her lip products stained Ashton's lips. "I love you, Kenzie."

Johnny was helping his mother clear the table, just like Lauren. While their mum was washing up, Lauren took the opportunity to talk to Johnny. "So, how are you feeling after tonight?" She muttered, starting off what could be the most awkward conversation ever.

He grabbed a stack of plates and looked up at Lauren. "I don't know, I'm happy I finally saw her but I'm upset that her and Ashton are doing so well. That sounds so bad but, they looked so in love. And not to mention, they have a fucking kid together. I've lost all hope in winning her over."

Lauren's cheeks went red, something that happened when she was lying. "But Bella is cute though, I can't get over her face."

Johnny sighed, nodding. "I have to agree, I felt so drawn to her but I couldn't just pick her up in front of Mackenzie and Ashton. It would be weird."

"You feel.. drawn to her?"

Johnny thought about it for a second. "Yeah."

"Hey, I saw Mackenzie smile at you, that's a good sign. Right?" The blonde boy nodded with a smile. That damn smile is what made him fall in love with her more and more everyday.

It's so sad to see something so beautiful end over false accusations. Johnny never meant to kiss Maisy, he thought it was Mackenzie. She wouldn't listen to him though.

"Johnny, you're zoning out." Lauren snapped him out of it.

He blinked a couple of times and sighed. "Sorry its just—"

"Mackenzie, I know."
