Fading blue

I found you in a corner on the bathroom floor.
Crying for a reason I don't know what for.
I held both arms out for you to pick a hand to hold
Raised your head from behind your knees
but all you could see were the naked toes on my purple feet.

My heart began to sink down in my chest
As your head fell back to give your neck a rest.
It scared me to see you like this.
   Your skin so pale,
Bones and muscles all seemed to fail.
   Your soul once so bold
Had turned to rust, like crust on a silver metal bowl.

   Your eyes a faded blue,
   once a full circle,
   now a crescent moon.

I told you this will all be over soon.
As for now, let's sing our favorite tune?
