Chapter 2

"Huh? Where am I?" Sparklekit looked around but only saw black. She blinked but still saw blackness all around. "I'm blind! I'm blind!" Sparklekit wailed. Then she felt another body by hers and scented Silverkit. "Shadecloud said that the blindness will wear of soon" whispered Silverkit her voice shaking. Just as she said her sight turned black to fuzzy all around. "I'm never going back to the nursery, Spottedfur wants to kill us." Sparklekit said "She scares me now." Silverkit got up and stretched, "I'm going to get something to eat, I'll look out for Spottedfur." After Silverkit left the den Sparklekit got her sight back when she did. Then she saw the evil Spottedfur, her red eyes were glowing and she stepped closer and closer. After two steps Sparklekit screamed and ran out of the medicine cat den apparently. She looked around and saw everyone staring at her like she was crazy. 'It was only a vision? Now I feel dumb!' She looked around at all the faces then looked at her paws and walked back into the medicine cat den. Sparklekit curled up and fell fast asleep only to find herself awake somewhere else. "Where am I now?" She muttered to herself. Then she saw them, evil Spottedfur and now evil Silverkit. They walked closer and closer until they were almost on her she screamed and tried to run but was frozen. Just as they were on her Sparklekit woke up to hear Crazystar call a meeting. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here for a clan meeting!" Sparklekit jumped up 'My apprenticeship!' She remembered then ran out of the medicine den and under high rock. Silverkit ran to Sparklekit to but ended up falling on her face. Sparklekit barely stifled her laugh. "We have two kits that have reached the age of six moons and in there return I commend an apprenticeship for them both. Silverkit until your warrior name you will be known as Silverpaw, your mentor will be Mouseclaw." Mouseclaw stepped up with wide eyes. "You are young but you are ready for an apprentice, do you promise to teach Silverpaw all the skills you know?" Mouseclaw blinked. "I will teach everything I know to Silverpaw." Then they touched noses, Crazystar turned to Sparklekit her gaze soft. "Sparklekit you have reached the age of six moons. Now until your warrior name you will be known as Sparklepaw, your mentor will be, Cloudheart." Cloudheart sept up with the same shock as Mouseclaw. "You have had one other apprentice but you are now ready for another. I trust you to pass on all your experience and skills to Sparklepaw." Sparklepaw almost ran to touch noses with Cloudheart. Sparklepaw looked at the nursery and saw Spottedfur, when they met eyes she saw a hint of red then it disappeared and she walked back into the nursery. Then she felt Silverpaw standing by her also quickly looking away from Spottedfur. Then Sparklepaw saw Stonepaw staring at her. When he noticed she was looking at him he looked away and went into the apprentice's den. "Looks like we're sleeping in there tonight." Sparklepaw said to Silverpaw. Silverpaw sighed then started walking to the apprentice's den to sleep. After a moment Sparklepaw followed her. When she entered she saw Silverpaw already curled up, and Stonepaw making a new nest kind of close to his. "Here Sparklepaw." He said when he was done, "I made it!" Sparklepaw smiled and stared walking to her nest. Then she stepped on a tail, "Ow!" Shouted Sandpaw, "Watch where your steping!" She growled. "Sorry! I didn't mean-" Sandpaw interrupted "Sorry doesn't heal hurt tails!" Sparklepaw just walked to her nest hoping for no dreams of evil cats. She curled up and after a while fell asleep. As she has been she opened her eyes suddenly in a nicer place than that evil place. In the wind she heard a whisper, "A great danger is coming Sparklepaw." She looked all around and saw no cat. Then up ahead she saw a mouse. But as she got closer she woke up to find the apprentice's den was in ruins and abandoned. The only cat there was Silverpaw. "Do you see what I see?" Silverpaw whispered to Sparklepaw. 'She sees it to!' She thought, 'What's happening to us!'
